New info (to me, and I suspect others:

"WorldNetDaily has reported that in the first couple of years after her collapse Terri received rehabilitative therapy and progressed to the point of saying "no," according to nurses' notes. She would also say, "yes" and "stop that," according to her parents."

Does anyone still doubt that this is about a husband legally offing his wife?

No- the media is not "getting it wrong"-- they are reporting exactly what they want to report.

As we see so often in the post-modern world, the left learned the lesson well that those who control the LANGUAGE will be in control. To control the meaning of words is to control people.

They know full well that "comatose" and "vegatative" do not describe Terri. But words have meaning and words have power.

"Some doctors have offered pro-bono treatment for her, which her husband declines."

How about some lawyers offering pro-bono services for Terri's divorce from this POS! And why isn't some DA prosecuting the A-hole for bigamy?

Yes. Quite amazing, how "new information" keeps getting generated, ...er... I mean, discovered.

I have observed this as well.

The facts are no longer accepted.

Bigamy? No, Mikey and his honey aren't married. But open adultery, YES.

What frustrates me is that Florida indeed has an "open adultery" law on the books. While it is obviously seldom (if ever) enforced, the fact is that no other adulterous couple is doing their deed (including having love children) while wifey is still alive but in a coma.

If I were the country prosecutor in the Pinellas area, I would go after BOTH of them with a vengeance, deliver their kid to the tender mercies of the foster care system, and set bail high enough to keep them behind bars unless Mikey, at a minimum, gives up guardianship.

As to divorce, that was looked at and discarded, simply because you can't prove that Terri would want one.

Sorry, didn't mean to say in a coma. Even I'm catching the words disease. Meant to say brain damaged.

True.

However when it comes to a fellow godless person like Christopher Reeves, we're supposed to destroy baby embryos and hope that can make him better. Or fellow atheist Stephen Hawkins - do WHATEVER is necessary for him to keep sputing his godless nonsense. Do I see a double standard? ;)

I have a living will and I find this situation of Terri Schiavo really frightening. I thought that I would not want extra ordinarly measures to prolong my life, but now, I do. I want to be allowed to stay plugged in. More than anything, I would fear some fools that might think that I did not want food or water. This is about the scariest thing that I have ever heard of. Oh, yes, leave me plugged in, for I would never want to be starved to death!

The media know exactly what they are doing

"The media know exactly what they are doing."

Yes they do, but their grip over hearts and minds isn't what it used to be. As they lose their grip, they get more and more extreme.

In the 60s, there wasn't any alternative to the Big 3 nets and the AP-WaPo-LAT-NYT alliance, which singlehandedly swung public opinion and, with the help of feckless leadership from LBJ, lost the War in Vietnam.

When Roe v Wade was decided in 1973, there was no meaningful alternative to their lockstep feminist agenda.

We had to get to 13% inflation and 20% interest rates before a true conservative could go over the heads of the alliance and get elected.

In 1993, they thought they could roll a national healthcare plan over us with no opposition. WRONG-Rush Limbaugh and nationalized talk radio stopped it.

In 1998, they thought they could laugh impeachment off the stage. WRONG-The slick one got impeached, though not convicted, as the nascent Internet and tidal wave of Talk Radio got the truth out.

In 2003, the pro-death alliance is desperately trying to use the traditional media to advance their agenda in the Terri Schiavo case. You know it's serious when the ACLU jumps in-AGAINST HER. Years ago, I believe she would have died with relatively little fanfare. Not this time.

Some doctors have offered pro-bono treatment for her, which her husband declines.

----------------------

To prohibit treatment at no expense by qualified specialists is repugnant to reason. Bush must get off his ass and appoint a team from those volunteers to be in charge of her treatment.

I was expressing this very sentiment to my dh earlier while telling him how Reeves "foundation" refused to help Terri. I summed up by saying the foundation should be named "all-about-me".

I heard something on this the other night which might be old news to those who have followed the story more closely than I have, but it was most interesting - Dr. Michael Baden, the forensic pathologist, was on Grete Van Sustern's show and said essentially that the idea that this woman had had a heart attack which left her in a vegetative state, the apparently accepted story, at her young age was far-fetched. He further said that he had seen bone scans of her and that it looked to him that she had suffered some kind of head trauma which more likely resulted in where she is today. He seemed to be implying that this trauma likely came from an accident or some sort of abuse (perhaps at her husband's hands?), but didn't come right out and make any accusations. Perhaps he's been doing too many autopsies for HBO, but it seemed like information which should be investigated more fully......

There's a lot of info on various threads here about the possible abuse that may have led Terri to the point where she collapsed. And there are many here (including myself) who believe it's very likely that Mikey wants to off his wife to make sure she never gets coherent enough to tell the world about what led to her collapse.
