But this is a very, very strange situation - possibly unprecedented in Florida. When you get a strange situation plus very strong feelings and a lot of publicity, literally ANYTHING could happen.
Our opinions are different.
My theory is that: - the results from therapy were in the very early years (1990-1993). - Mikey stopped the therapy when he got his money. - A few years passed, where the Schindlers concentrated on trying to get Mikey to do what he said he would do (they may have been too timid at this stage, who knows?) to get Terri therapy. - Then Mikey filed to pull the feeding tube (1998, I think). - By that time, the favorable results from therapy were considered old news and irrelevant by Judge Greer and the trained attack dogs disguised as doctors that Mikey used. - I believe the opinions of Terri's doctors have never been allowed into the official court record, and even if I'm wrong and they have been, the early favorable results of therapy probably never have ("too old" "irrelevant" "what is she like TODAY?").
In this case, where the deciding issue is whether or not Terri could respond to therapy, the infomration would have been relevant. There are a lot of ways to have information entered into the record and thus seen by the Judge.
Somewhere in all the information of the last few days I recall seeing a quote from Judge Greer. He was responding to the claims of one of Terri's parents Doctor's that he had successfully treated cases like Terri's before. The Judge's comment was that the Doctor has made these claims yet he had not submitted a single case history or name of patient to substantiate his testimony. The information that you have posted would certainly have been applicable as a basis for that Physicians claims that Terri was treatable.
Either the attorney's were incompetent or the information that you reference in your post has been "created out of whole cloth" as part of the publicity campaign that is underway. Once Randall Terry became involved I have been very suspicious of any "new" information and will remain so until I see substantiating documentation.
