Houston radio talk show host Jon Matthews has been taken off the air while Sugar Land police investigate what they call an "allegation from a community member."
Dan Patrick, owner of station KSEV-AM 700, told listeners of the move Friday afternoon.
"He told me he was under investigation and had not been charged," Patrick said. "In light of that, I told him it would be best for him and the station not to be on the air."
Patrick said Sugar Land police told him the investigation "could take several weeks." He cautioned listeners not to rush to judgment.

This may seem like bad timing since the guy is the target of a police probe, but Matthews, who styles himself a populist conservative, isn't very smart particularly on taxes and economics. He is also often confrontational when it is not necessary. Matthews is part of the reason KSEV is unlistenable.

What?!! Matthews doesn't "style" himself as anything; he's just himself. He has a firm grasp on taxes and economics (and politics and corrupt city government and shallow mayors and toy trains - which may very well be what this is all about).

I have never listened to Jon Matthews because he comes on early but I hope this is a misunderstanding. Maybe he took a leak in his yard & the kid next door saw him & told his mom.

what they call an "allegation from a community member." An allegation of, exactly, what?

I like Jon's program. and he's funny and he's always on top of Metro and OutofTown Brown.
But for Dan Patrick to take him off the air indicates there's more to come out regarding the details of the investigation.

The only reason KSEV is unlistenable is because of its weak signal. I cannot tune Jon's show in most mornings. Hence, I have come to listen to Pat Grey and really love his program. I was able to get Jon's show when he had Sylvester Turner on this past week, but that's the first time in a long time. I guess I live too far away from the station.

Matthews is part of the reason KSEV is unlistenable. Well, that's only your opinion. A lot of us would say otherwise. Jon is an ex-Marine and sounds down to earth, if repetitious. It will be interesting though, to hear what the allegations are.

A pedo-flasher.
Going to nude beachs I get. Nude sun bathing I get. Nude hot tubbing is just plain fun.
Exposing yourself in public like that is just plain stupid. Are some people such LOSERS that they feel inclined to get their yabbo's off by showing people what a small winky they have?
Plead guilty. I hope he gets enough time to enjoy the experience of being someone elses sock puppet.

Thanks for the ping, Xena.
If the judge throws the book at him, I'll have to believe the man was a pervert.
What a waste! What a stinkin' waste of a real talent!
