The White House has issued President Bush's annual greeting to Muslims around the world who will observe the holy month of Ramadan.
In his message, President Bush says Islam is a peaceful religion that has helped shape the character of the United States, and has made great contributions to the world.
Mr. Bush said Americans cherish the freedom to worship and, he said, "we remain committed to welcoming individuals of all religions."
During Ramadan, President Bush said Muslims fast, pray, contemplate and renew their commitment to lead lives of honesty, integrity and compassion.
He'd probably consider Christians as a cult out to kill him.
"Sorry the truth offends you."
It doesn't offend me at all since the TRUTH and what you are seeing are so different.
Of course I have.
You are proving my point. These pogroms were in complete violation of Christian Scripture. They were done either in ignorance of The Word or in obedience to mistaken temporal or ecclesiastical authority who were seeking other ends. They were an abberation, deserving the highest condemnation from a true Believer, and no doubt from The Lord.
Muslim Doctrine COMMANDs such murderous behavior in obedience to their twisted scriptures.
The good muslims never need to wear their religions on their sleeve.
Any one who does, can get the hell away from me.
And does that include your support for their Commander in Chief to send them and their families his best wishes during their holy season?
Save your breath. Getting a straight, sensible response out of this loonie would be like getting a strong pledge of allegiance out of a Muslim resident of America.
And the Christian soldier next to him, if a devout skin head, Mein Kompf pounding Racists, would instinctually be seen as a threat amongst the Jewish, Muslim and black soldiers.
Or the oath of enlistment from 13,000 AMERICANS.
I detect a slight contradiction there Tooth. Your second point is the correct one. Islam and Democracy (any kind of self-determination) are mutually exclusive. In nearly every country where Islam reigns supreme the government invariably becomes folded in with " Sharia Lawa (barbaric) set of Islamic laws that runs contrary to about every democratic principle. Turkey, the possible exception to this rule, nevertheless struggles mightily in barely making it work.
My prediction on Iraq is that we will get them off to a good start on the road to self-rule. It will appear to work for awhile....then the Wheels Will Come Off and they will be back to where they stared.
It's hard to understand the naivete some here have about Islam. And I have to wonder what it will take to finally shake our elected officials from their politically correct stupor. When our government CONTINUES to allow more than 200,000 M.E. Muslims to immigrate into America every year (incredibly despite 911) we are just asking for civil strife, conflict, and more terrorism in our future.
I can't think of anything that is more diametrically opposed with the Freedoms, Principles and Customs that America was founded on than Islam.
You're losing the plot, CWO. Hang in there. What you said is why the President doesn't warmly greet the KKK once a year, as Christianity doesn't preach Mein Kompf principles, right? Again, a definition of 'religion' would really help here, don't you think?
And does that include your support for their Commander in Chief to send them and their families his best wishes during their holy season?
You must have missed this in the frenzy so I thought I should post it again.
Whether I am an "Islamic Scholar of international standing" or not is immaterial. I can read and understand what they are saying in the Koran - and so can they, and what's more they act on it.
There are lots of good sources to study up on this if you have a mind to do so, rather than rant on about those who bring uncomfortable facts to your attention.
One very fine book on the subject is Islam Unveiled: Disturbing Questions About the World's Fastest Growing Faith, but there are others, and some have been cited in previous posts, such as by your good friend "Kozak" in Post #98.
