We spent a couple weeks there last winter. It's sufficiently weird for us--at least for a short visit.

then WHEN? When the pitcher's spot comes up when you have a man on base.

If there was any place I would retire to, it would be the Keys...

A few years ago Jeter set some kind of record for getting on base in 50-something consecutive games. It couldn't be a team record, considering Joe DiMaggio had that 56-game hitting streak. But even if it wasn't a record, it was pretty impressive.

McKeon should be hung for taking out the starter. He has made the same pitching mistakes 2 nights in a row.
To: My Favorite Headache
oops. how about a repeat of last nights hit?

Is this game ever going to end? Wife's complaining that I'm not in bed. I said I'd read in bed with her after the game. Well, now the lights are off, and I'm still up watching the game...

1916 -- Babe Ruth outpitched Sherry Smith of the Brooklyn Dodgers as the Boston Red Sox won the longest World Series game, 2-1 in 14 innings.

"McKeon should be hung for taking out the starter. He has made the same pitching mistakes 2 nights in a row."Said the same thing just as soon as he yanked Pavano for NO reason whatsoever. Quite frankly, the Yanks should have already won this game, McKeon should be at the podium by now explaining himself.
To: F16Fighter
Evidently, no.
To: F16Fighter
Can Giambi EVER get a basehit with runners ON?? Not lately. Consider that he had 40+ home runs, but a relatively paltry 107 RBI. That means he drove in himself nearly half the time. Considering some of those other RBIs came on his home runs, that leaves very few non-home-run RBIs. So he's not the guy you want up when a single or double is needed. Especially because he refuses to hit to left. That makes his only single possibilities seeing-eye singles or line-drives over the infield. It's no wonder he's hit .250 when all four infielders play to the right of second base.

Game 1 of the 2000 World Series lasted 4 hours and 51 min. The longest game in World Series history.

I don't think I ever saw Giambimbo pull a ball.
