Holy crap! Does Giambi look baaaad! He's pathetic for a baseball "hitter" making $20 million a year.

Buck is no Yankee fan. He gets really, really excited anytime their opponent does anything good...and really quite when the Yankees do something good.

Tied at the bottom of the 10th with the top of the Marlins order coming up!

What a cut by Giambi.

Seems to me he'd have much better success if he didn't swing so hard. The Marlin hitters just seem to flick the bat late, and get hit after hit through the hole between 2nd and 1st. All those righties, plus all those identical-looking hits...it's like watching a play on videotape over and over again. Pudge alone must have had the exact same hit about six or seven times this postseason. They hit to the opposite field more than any other team in the playoffs this year.

I think the Marlins are a classy team. They all seem to respect the game and those who play it well (as in their opponents the Yankees). Think of it--the Marlins are young, some of them (Beckett) idolized Roger Clemens and the team leader (my man Pudge) shows them how to be classy and competitive while giving the game the respect that some have lost.

I agree, particularly with Pudge. Piazza may get more accolades as a good-hitting catcher, but Pudge deserves to be called the best catcher in baseball. He's a real leader.

"What a cut by Giambi."

He and Soriano ought to go into the windmill business.

And here's Contreras walking Lucky Pierre...D@mn!

I thought Giambi was going to either end up on his tush or drill himself into the ground with that swing, but he didn't wait for his ball.

Are there any Marlins fans out there, as opposed to Yankee haters?

I don't think I've ever met an actual Marlins fan.

And Contreras walks the one guy you don't want on base to lead off an inning. I still think Mo should have come in. Preventing a walkoff run is more important than worrying about a game going 15 innings, in the playoffs. If Mo goes two, and the Yankees don't score, well, at least they had those two innings to try to score. I guess it's easy to manage from home, but putting in your closer in a tie game is certainly not unusual.

I wonder if Pudge had been with a better team than the Rangers--would he have had the recognition he deserves before now? Here he is at bat with a runner on second and 17 RBIs. GO PUDGE!

Well, I'm cheering for the Marlins, but I'm a tepid Brewers fan, but a bigger Cubs fan.

I'm cheering for the Marlins because, well, Luis Gonzalez kept posting pictures of fish.

Why are they pitching to Pudge? The lead run is the only one that counts!

They better walk Cabrera. They got away with pitching to Pudge.
