That's the whole purpose of the double switch.

They just can't hit, period. I'd love to see this crop of Yankees' average pitches per at bat, compared to the 1998 club that won 114 games. I wouldn't be surprised if it's .5 to 1 pitch lower. And Giambi, Sori, and Boone have a lot to do with that.

"MVP of the series so far?"If the Yanks come back: Jack McKeon.

I thought it was really classy for the Marlins to stand up in the dugout and clap for Clemens at the end of his start. Nice moment.

I could get one--and the guy that did the forgeries is probably out of jail by now.
The one I really want is the Brett Favre-Bart Starr autographed football, but if I got it, I'd have to build a shrine around it.

I think team chemistry has a lot to do with it. Teams that trust each other are less likely to try to do it all themselves with home-run hacks.

That's why Matsui is the hit-and-run guy.

You know, nobody has walked in this game yet.

I think the Marlins are a classy team. They all seem to respect the game and those who play it well (as in their opponents the Yankees). Think of it--the Marlins are young, some of them (Beckett) idolized Roger Clemens and the team leader (my man Pudge) shows them how to be classy and competitive while giving the game the respect that some have lost.

A double here would put the tying run at second. If anybody can do it, Matsui can.

Brett was asked once why his name is pronounced that way. His explanation went something like this, "That's how we pronounce it in Mississippi." The reporters said, "ah."
