At the risk of sounding really, really stupid, I'm going to ask this question: Since adultery is a cause for divorce, why can't a divorce be granted to Terri? Is that absolutely impossible? He certainly can't deny the adultery.

A guardian at litem would probably have filed for divorce. Part of the reason Judge Greer refused to appoint one.

She couldn't possible sign the papers. But her legal guardian could. And guess who that is....

At the risk of also sounding stupid, if Terri cannot be granted a legal divorce, why can't the Catholic church grant her an annulment? Sure, it would not be legally binding, but it would hold sway in public opinion and consequently with the FL state legislature. I am not Catholic so I know nothing of the rules toward granting an annulment.
What do y'all think?
