They also have other laws that they have been neglecting to enforce, ie. removal of guardian laws. None of this "right-to-die" stuff should even apply to Terri , BECAUSE she is not in a PVS, by their own definition. I think the legislators had every right to change the law, when what they were intending was overruled by the judge. It's very clear when you read the Florida statutes, what the intent of the law was. It is supposed to be applied narrowly, not liberally. Because Judge Greer was misinterpreting the legislature's intent, the legislature has every right, indeed the duty, to correct wrongs that are stipulated within the law. They vote to change a law. They change the words , the definitions, etc. It was clear to some of the legislators that what happened to Terri was not what they intended when they wrote the law the way they did in 1999. This wasn't supposed to happen to Terri. And because this was a life and death situation, there was no time to waste. They felt they needed to give Gov. Bush the authority to stay this judge's order to remove nutrition and hydration from Terri. If the legislature isn't responsible for making laws, and amending them, then what is their purpose?

That was a different Michael Schiavo. On the first monster Terri thread, this same "poem" was found and posted. There are lots of Michael Schiavos in the U.S. (my apologies to the other ones so unaptly named). Terri's or should I say Jodi's Michael is Michael R. Schiavo. I don't know what the "R" is for, though. "Rectum" would be my guess.

I have followed this thread for a week whenever I was able. Today I could not do so because of other commitments (24 hours or so). However, it is so DEPRESSING to come back now and to hear what is happening since Terri was first moved from the hospice and into the hospital. I know this is a case of spiritual warfare occurring, but it is dragging me down so LOW at this point. Maybe as many of us as possible need to invoke Saint Jude, the Patron of Impossible Cases, and his Holy Novena. It is on the internet, or I will print it for any who cannot find it. I cannot think of anything else to do. I hope someone will ratify my feeling of hopelessness and offer other ideas regarding consoling one another as well as Terri and her family. If those who need to find the Novena to St. Jude cannot find it, please FReepmail me and I will try to assist.

Can you people read?

Terri's Constitution and Bill of Rights guarantee is in Michael's hands, as per the law YOU let the Legislature formalize. Tell the Bar about Felos, file a formal complaint. Hop on the ethics committees to investigate. And file a formal complaint to the Judiciary Committee.

Too bad you weren't more attentive to the laws in your state a long time ago, Duh.

Yes.. I'm not even considering that a possibility. Please keep fighting .. try to do something to help Terri at least once a day if not more and have your friends, etc. do that same, and so on.

"Only one person followed Gov. Bush's order. I thank them because to defy Felos means they may be subject to a messy lawsuit and Felos is good at those."

Thank goodness one was all that was needed! I'd like to know the names of the gutless, lawsuit fearing doctors who declined before someone complied with the order.

AMEN 2nd amendment mama!! I stand in complete agreement with you. Satan: in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Power of his shed blood, I command you to flee from the presence of Terri Schiavo. Your schemes and plans operating through the evil spirits inhabiting her husband and the Judges and doctors who would testify falsely, are bound and they are bound so tightly that they cannot express themselves or operate against Terri in any way. We place the shed blood of Jesus on the door posts of Terri's room, and if you or any demonic spirits that you send out to destroy Terri attempt to enter her room I remind you that you are confronted the Blood of Jesus. You are a defeated foe and you must flee from the presence of God and the power of HIS shed blood. Go Now,and take every demonic Spirit assigned to destroy Terri Schiavo and do NOT return. Precious Lord, we thank you for answering our prayers and we pray special protection and the comfort of the Holy Spirit for Terri's family. Continue to give them strength Oh Lord and although we know this battle is not over, we thank you that we have the Victory because we belong to you. In the name of Jesus we pray.

"Were you aware that a certain segment of our society thinks that lawyers and judges and courts are pure and saintly, and only concerned with absolute justice?"

Yep. The courtrooms have become sanctuaries of the new religion where everyone with a law degree gets to be a little god in his own right. Isn't that special? And they specialize in the overthrowing of the one true God...and we know who is behind that. And they aren't liking it one bit that the people and the legisture and the executive have come together to challenge their legitimacy.

P.S. I don't think I like that Chris Matthews anymore after what he had to say in that interview yesterday. That Caplan out in PA looks like Joey Buttafucco, and we all know what he did. Is Hannity the one with the glasses? My mom would have said, "Gee, what is that? Do you feed it or put gas in it?" I am so mad about what I am hearing in the media about Terri - it's all Michael Schiavo comments and stuff. Well, goodnight, all! I've been unwinding on here on and off for quite awhile.

WE have forced a state to convene its legislature for the explicit reason of having the governor intervene in a court ordered case.

Lakey, I disagree with you here. We were applying pressure, but that special session had already been determined 2 or more weeks before. We didn't cause that session to happen, it was happening whether or not Terri's bill was brought up. In fact, they still covered their other material that they were planning to vote on anyway.

Don't you remember how frustrated we were to find out that there was a special session, but that they didn't bring up Terri's bill? It was hours before it made it into their discussion on Monday. In fact, IIRC they didn't even vote on it until Monday evening. We were getting the run-around all day from everybody's office assistants. The House passed their original version Monday night, and it went to the Senate on Tuesday. By then, the media had broken the story about what happened in the House, so the Senate felt compelled to discuss it. We didn't force anything on any legislators. We did compel them to act, but then so did the media storm around them. I still believe that what they did was constitutional for them to do. They were doing their jobs!

A lot of that is in the process but if the legislature had not stepped in she would be dead. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.
