You have obviously never seen a person in a vegetative state. They have no brain EKG function whatsoever, yet they appear wide awake and semi-functional. She is not there, folks, and all these gestures, all-though they come from a good place, does Terri no good. YOU ARE WRONG! DEAD WRONG!!!!!!

Wondering what the civil penalty for disobeying the governor is?
Let alone the eternal penalty that Michael Schiavo and his lawyers will have to pay!

I have never heard of a condition called "vegetative" state.
In any event, no one should have the right to murder another human being, "vegetative" or not.
We are keeping an organism alive only at this time.
Not at all. Given your line of faulty reasoning, we should disconnect all those who are getting feeding intravenously. Is that what you think is "humane"?

You have stated it, but you do not understand. No, actually, you are the one who does not understand. It is not anyone's place but God's to end life. It is certainly not this scum-sucking "husband's" place.

I do not pretend to know when the soul goes to God but my faith tells me that her soul is still with her. Let's say that you are correct about the "killing" someone theory. Do you not also agree that the soul's release from the body could be one of the most wonderful experiences anyone ever faces. Is it right that her soul, if still with her, should be allowed to suffer and not be one with God again?
To: supercat
I am not suggesting that she be allowed to die. Just the opposite, who are we to judge her quality of life.

The executive order said she had to be hydrated and fed. She is in a very fragil medical state - and she's been moved into a cold room with no emergency care facilities available to her, and orders to cremate her remains immediately upon her death.
To: irish_lad
You argue the soul/spirit has no form or substance?
Let's not go metaphysical, here. Terri Schiavo is alive. She has EEG tracks. She's got more response than some guys I've gone drinking with.

Dunno about civil penalty, but it would be the crime of attempted murder.

Sink is correct.....Michael is her legal husband he has the final word legally...

Could she have stabilized so quickly? Sure. Six days without food is not particularly life-threatening in itself. The dehydration, if that was total, is far more serious, but can quickly be repaired with IVs. As long as no vital organs shut down, she would be a little worse for wear, but probably not in any real danger any longer.

What I meant was that if he isn't following the governors orders JB might send someone in to make him.

Everyone, please put yourself in the family's place. How would any of us feel if someone who obviously was he** bent on killing our beloved child was given "God" status over that child and used it to punish us (withhold visitiation on his childish whims) to abuse her (no gynocology, no teeth cleaning, no basic medical care, NOTHING) for YEARS all the while protected in his torture of an entire family by amoral vermin in black robes.
I honestly do not know how the parents haven't taken matters into their own hands. I would have years ago for my child. They are better people than I am.
He is a monster. Bumping her around in her condition right now could kill her - but I am sure he's hoping that. This man is DESPERATE to kill Terri - his actions alone are screaming his guilt of something. That he tries to pass himself off as a loving husband just following his wife's wishes, while forcing her parents to beg for visitations - having to be "supervised" by his mistress - what a slap in their faces.
I am so weary of this to be honest, it's like a bad horror movie that just won't end and no good guys come riding in on a white horse. I have even watched Fox portray her as a vegetable and CBS claim she "can't feel pain" - they used to claim that about fetuses until medical science proved that they were lying there as well.
Although I am weary, I can't imagine what that monster is putting Terri through. I'll continue to pray for her. This is just vile.
I read the nurse and CNA affidavits - he is a sociopathic monster who relishes controlling Terri's life and the lives of all those around her, family, medical personnel, etc.
To: irish_lad
She has brain function. It has been confirmed. The only people say Terri DOESN'T have brain function are hubby's attorney and his employees. Calm down, lad! Dandelion has stated the gist of it. This is not a simple matter of allowing a person with significantly diminished brain capacity to die, this is a matter of why there are so many intertwined individuals who seem to have bet the house on NEEDING her to die. It stinks, and it smells to high heaven. There is too much evidence that this is not just a medical matter, but in effect a crime in progress.
To: irish_lad
Nope. You seem to be missing the point.
Terry is alive, and in a reduced mental acuity state. She is not a vegetable.
Thus, she is still alive, and still has a soul.
Anything you missed in that simple point?
