Perfect Spin, Rummy.
This is the best tactical leak from the Administration ever. Well done.

Bush is clearly responsible for all of the leaks. And he lied! {/sarcasm}
To: Pukin Dog
Kim Jong Daschle sure made an ass of himself today

Daschle reacted like a starving man after being handed something brown and sticky. He took a bite, before taking the time to smell it. Now, he is full of it.

What earth-shattering news. The Secretary of the Defense is not claiming that the war on terrorism has been won yet.
Therefore, according to Daschle, our policies are a failure.

and the assumption for now is that the leak was "not malicious".Sorry, but I don't buy that for a minute. Someone WANTED to embarass Rummy.
Once, just ONCE, I would like to see the leaker caught, and at the least fired, at the worst tried and convicted for possibly endangering national security.
It should not be that difficult to track down this particular leaker since the time period has been so short.
To: Pukin Dog
Yup, Daschle and the Preetitutes failed to notice the question marks at the end of every question and statement.
I agree, this was leaked on purpose and it worked perfectly

There are secretaries and left-over secretaries from the Clinton days. Is Clinton's old secretary (the one who covered for him during Monica days, still working in the Government? LOL
If they find this creep, I think they should be prosecuted and recieve far worse punishment than intended for the Wilson Wife fake leak fiasco.

personally the memo makes me feel better about the war on terror. Rummy is thinking outside the box - which is what we need. One eye on the prize and one eye on the big picture.

BINGO, A good CEO is always questioning and challenging the people under him. This memo is a prime example of an excellent thought provoking memo

Which is exactly why it was "leaked" in the first place. Rummy is getting a VERY positive media reaction from the memo.
He played them like a violin. I dont know how he keeps a straight face on camera.

Back up the bus.
If this was a strategically "leaked" memo, it will get well-deserved criticism from Kennedy, Pelosi, Dracula et al...
If it was intended as a press release, it would have contradicted official presidential position re the "religion of peace and tolerance".
If one of the four recipients resigns or is replaced, that would answer the question, wouldn't it?

sshhh...he's really pissed. Otherwise how would a memo that only five people got, all of whom keep the deepest, darkest secrets of our government, get out into the public.
Don't break the talking points - he's pissed! :)
To: Publius6961
Where have you been? Daschle jumped on the memo like there was steak on it. He looks like a fool tonight.
It was not intended to look like a press release, it was supposed to look like a leaked memo. Rummy wont be replacing anyone right now for "national security" reasons. Look, it was a perfect operation. The media is running around tonight talking about how THOUGHTFUL Rummy is, and how they might have misjudged his so-called arrogance regarding the Pentagon.
A home run by all accounts.

While I've seen others making this claim, I don't think it was a tactical leak. Regardless of what the memo actually says, the media is already mischaracterizing what it says, and is therefore, undermining any tactical advantage....which they always do. I think some Clinton leftover or liberal hanger-on leaked it.

Rest assured, there are no Clinton leftovers or liberal hanger-on'ers in Rumsfeld's intimate circle. These are men of character, doing what they were told to do. The heat returns to the State Dept, and Rummy smells like roses.

by the way:
"The media is running around tonight talking about how THOUGHTFUL Rummy is, and how they might have misjudged his so-called arrogance regarding the Pentagon."
I don't know what media you're talking about, but just about every hourly radio newbreak in my town, the media is delighting in the news that "Rummy admits war plans a failure." They're not praising him for being thoughtful...they're relishing in the idea that he was wrong.
