I would really rather that the Bush administration work on a spending cut plan, thank you.

They don't starve, we just borrow to cover them.

Hope springs eternal but, as dirtboy noted, cuts ain't been happening. Maybe Arnold Schwarzenegger's efforts in California will resonate....

I'd rather see him throw his political weight behind HR 25. It's got 40 sponsors right now and is sitting in the House Ways and Means committee.

Get that rolling and he wouldn't have to worry about trying to get another "generic" tax cut passed.

I'd rather both.

That'll be the day! I hope I live long enough to see it.

I agree, how about trying to balance the budget. Cut your spending.

Bush said that he would that he would pursue tax cuts every year that he is in office, and he is just keeping his word.

Sure 'nuf, but sending them out costs money. It's cheaper to not take it in the first place.

I agree that we should cut spending, but balancing the budget right now would cripple the recovery.

I don't believe they should balance the budget - but I would like to see Bush make at least some kind of proposal to cut spending, even if it is only on the scale of $20-40 billion. And a real cut - not just a decrease in the increase.

It would be nice if they would not hand out $400 welfare checks to non-federal tax payers and call it a tax cut. And before I get the "They pay social security taxes" argument from others, no, they don't. The (un)Earned Income Tax Credit returns all of that to them, and sometimes more.

"people are more concerned about job losses then tax cuts right now. he is going to the well too many times with this."

How about a big Corporate tax-break to all domestic US manufacturers.

If the manufacturing industry gets to keep more of it's money, then they will start to hire aggresively, thus neutralizing a major Democratic criticism of Bush.
