[history]
Unseasonably warm weather is causing some unladylike behavior in southeast Missouri.
Millions of ladybugs have invaded the area.
By mid-afternoon Sunday, masses of the orange insects were landing on buildings, cars and skin.
"We've got too many," said Cape Girardeau County resident Schirley Huey, doing yard work with her husband when they first noticed the pesky insects flying about. A few even bit.

We've had the same swarming of ladybugs in Kentucky also. Still don't know why there would be so many now as the aphids are about gone, given the cooler weather and late season. This needs to happen in the spring!

We got'em here in Central Illinois (Springfield), too. I don't mind them as much as those Box Elder bugs, though. I've never seen them so thick. Its definately getting cooler here, so I don't think they'll be around much longer.

Here in Mid-Wisconsin on Monday it was close to 80 degrees. With the warm weather came the lady bugs.
My house is now literally infested. I sprayed them, and now my floor is covered with dead lady bugs. Time to get out the vacuum.

I'll ladybug you! I'm a guy, pal!

I heard on the radio that they are not exactly lady bugs but come from the lady bug family. Apparently they were "brought in" because they feed on gypsy moths in an effort to get the gypsy moth population down. I was always told that lady bugs were considered to be "lucky", don't know about these guys.

Same thing here in southeast PA.
I was trying to do some painting outside yesterday, and the darn things kept landing on me and the wet paint.
Then my sister-in-law called - when she came home from work, there were thousands of them (well, that's what she said) inside her house on the ceiling and walls.

My house in Connecticut was covered with them yesterday.

That's what I was about to say. Here in Ohio, there wasn't a ladybud in sight when the aphids were gobbling up my garden. After the aphids died, the ladybugs turned up for Indian Summer.

Hey, see you tomorrow on the survivor thread.
Meanwhile here in Michigan we are experiencing a second storm cloud of ladybugs. Shop vac is still in the living room.
