Tony Snow Leaving Fox News Sunday (Rush Related)
Hotline via C-SPAN Washington Journal
Posted on 10/22/2003 4:36:00 AM PDT by leadpenny
Vaugh Ververs of The Hotline just told the host of C-SPAN's Washington Journal that Tony Snow would be leaving Fox News Sunday to start a talk-radio program. Ververs speculated that Snow may be sensing an opening with Rush Limbaugh out of the picture right now.

I wanted to stay over there and listen to the former head of FAA security but Alan Colmes is on Imus right now.

Not good. That might put Brit as host of FNS. Then, having to be neutral, whose gonna verbally b!tchslap Juan around each week and keep him in line?

Colmes, since his new book has come out, was spouting last nite on H & C that Bill Clinton was the greatest President---ever. I can't stomach Colmes. He's nothing but a partypositionparrot.

He has to know better than that. Did you hear him say that he feels nothing but compassion for Limbaugh and sees no reason to "pile on?"

Rots of ruck.
Tony is one of our own, but his monotone voice and lack of any verve makes me wonder if he could carry off a talk show for several hours every day, five days a week.
WE, of course know him and love him, but the point is to make new converts on any conservative show, especially younger people.
Unless Tony comes up with a different schtick or a quick self-infusion of excitement somewhere, I'm afraid he'll be just as boring as I find him now.

I can take Colmes over Bill Press!I'll miss Tony .He made Rockefeller face his lies Sunday.

Hmmmmm. I'm thinking that there may be more to this story than is being told.
I thought Tony did exceptionally well on Fox, but it's my impression that Fox is drifting more and more to the left. I wonder if Fox was not giving Tony the pay and respect that he deserved - to send him a message, you know.
I also suspect that part of the agreement with Fox was that he stay off those "right wing extremist" radio talk shows while he was working for Fox. Maybe Tony felt unloved and trapped at Fox.
Has Tony been a replacement host for Rush since he started with Fox? Anyone?

I hope this is not true. Tony is a good guy, but he has absolutely the
wrong voice for radio -- there's something about its timbre that makes him hard to listen to. Rush, in contrast, has a rich, resonating "DJ" voice -- perfect for radio.
Tony is doing good work on FNS. I hope he stays there.

The new show that Tony Snow is hosting is being syndicated by Fox News Radio which is a companion radio network of Fox News Channel. Snow will continue as host of Weekend Live on FNC but will give up hosting duties fro Fox News Sunday.

To: TomGuy
that's true. I love watching Brit verbally b!tchslap Juan around every week.
Maybe Brian Wilson or Jim Angle could take it.
