"right to die"

Oh I agree completely, this isn't a right to die case. That's why I support saving her life. I just hate the government making laws that can open the door for restriction of my rights.

Good man.

I don't care if anyone apologizes to me over what was said to me either when I said Jeb didn't have the power to do anything by himself. I got called some pretty rough stuff, "deranged", "ignorant", etc.)

I don't care about that, but I would like to see this huge vendetta against Bush acknowledged as having been misplaced by those who did it, and some "I WOULD NEVER EVER VOTE FOR JEB BUSH AGAIN!!!!"'s retracted.

The thing that does concern me about this, is that this law is another invasion of government into my rights. Remember this sets a precedence for the government to revoke the rights of your spouse. That I don't like, but I don't believe Terri should be starved to death. Tough situation...

The government intervening in a "right to life" situation is exactly what we are wanting in the abortion issue. Do you know on what basis this law was passed?

I agree completely, Terri should be saved as this isn't a right to die case. However, it does open the door to more government control of my life.

The political pressure on Jeb helps things along a bunch. I don't think any of us were wrong about the way we went about effecting changes here. We were all right if you ask me. That is if you didn't call anyone all sorts of names for trying the best they could to help out.

Ah there's a difference between right to life and right to die. I'm advocating that Terri should be saved as this isn't a right to die case. I just don't want the government telling me or my spouse how they MUST handle my own personal situation.

I think the "never vote for Jeb again" statements meant if he didn't intervene. Now that he has intervened, I will bet you those people have changed their minds.

Not watching CNN...I completely agree. However, I don't get MSNBC and FOX is on Neil Cavuto and not covering this. They sometimes don't seem to know their audience.

Are we certain that Terri's tube is being reinserted right now? I'm reading many reports that are ambiguous about what exactly is happening right now.

Freepers, anyone with definite knowledge of what is happening, I implore you to post ASAP.

God, please help Terri hang in there.

"Hundreds of concerned citizens and pro-life activists from all over the country have sojourned to Florida to witness the involuntary euthanization of Terri at the direction of her estranged husband and his accomplices in the Florida judiciary."

Very appropriately worded!

The net change as to how much government can control our lives hasn't changed.

What has changed is that whereas that government could order someone executed with just 2 or 3 people in agreement has now been spread out so that more than those 2 or 3 people can put a stop to it.

Terri's blood family was willing to break all ties with Michael Schiavo and just take care of Terri, completely at their own expense. The government would not permit it. That sounds a lot more like "government control" to me.
