One of the amendments allow him to appt a guardian ad litem it looks like too.

That should have been done at admission. She was obviously beaten!

Important note: The Senate has amended the bill... meaning the Senate version and the House version are different. The differences must be worked out in Conference - and then sent back to the House and Senate floors for another vote before the bill goes to Jeb.

It's gone for me too, Budge. They scrapped one amendment, not sure what it was though. But the Guardian Ad Litem is IN. I didn't see a vote, it went down before that happened.

It sounded like they were planning to get it through FAST. I did hear somebody summarizing what they *thought* would be happening next. That this would go right back to the House, they would approve the bill as amended, and somebody would run it over to Gv. Bush asap.

PRAYING!

I sent this message the senators a few minutes ago:

Please stop what you're doing, walk down and vote on the Shiavo bill. Terri has been without food or water now for 150 hours. Her kidneys should have started to fail some time yesterday. Her heart may arrest at any moment due to a lack of electrolytes.

Please call the other senators, coordinate it through your email list, whatever method you choose, but do not delay until tonight or it may be too late.

Cordially...

According to my tracking software, already 10 have opened the email, so either they or their assistants are reading it, and one person has opened it 3 times.

So Cal Rocket is correcdt in post 162. Back and forth, back and forth - until Terri is dead and they are ALL absolved of any guilt.

"Well i tried!" I can hear it now.

God, PLEASE give Terri strength!

And a little extra for me wouldn't hurt.

Sounds like they're pretending to "feel her pain" while they wait for her to die.

Right before the stream went dead AGAIN, some IDIOT senator slipped a mickey -- (paraphrase) "Is there anything in this bill that would prevent the husband from going to court and getting an injunction to prevent the governor from restoring the tube?"

"NO."

The damn fix is STILL IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those *stupid* bastards....

Ya see, there's more than one "Bush" in this country, so your headline might reflect that fact...

In legislatures generally (though I don't know about FL specifically), if the amendments are likely to be considered acceptable by the other chamber, a conference committee can be skipped. Then, in this example, the House could move on the floor to substitute the Senate's language (SB 12-E) into its bill (HB 35-E). A vote on the bill with identical language could thus be passed from the House floor directly without having to return to the Senate or going to a conference and returning to both chambers. Let's hope and pray that this is what happens.

NOW they are starting the debates. I heard Margolis and the other who voted NO in committee. Geller.

HURRY people. Terri is hungry and dry as jerky.

Geller says this is a PERMANENT stay?

Ooops, sidetracked by kids needing assignments...

It's obvious by their liesurely pace that they don't really care that this is a matter of life or deathe where, at this late date, even minutes count.

Heard ominous thing on Hannity about the legislarure intervening on Terri's behalf, if there's time.

I'm starting to think they're just trying to run out the clock like in a stupid ballgame.

If they're are doing this with bo malicious intent, then they are the ones who are raelly brain dead.

They're scheduled to begin discussion this evening.

Then what? Adjourn overnight to sleep on it and maybe vote on it sometime tomorrow. Take your time. No rush here.

Don't quote me on this, but my reading of the bill is that the "one-time stay" means per case...?
