UFO still puzzles 30 years later (Coyne Incident)

MANSFIELD -- Thirty years ago tonight, strange things were happening in the skies over north central Ohio.

A close encounter in Mansfield, that has since become known as "The Coyne Incident," is still raising eyebrows among believers and UFO investigators.

And, one source asserts that there are over 70 distinct ET races.

Thanks for these facts. Although I've never personally seen a "UFO", I do believe in their existence and that they've been visiting Earth over the course of several centuries.

Actually one of the things Clinton wanted to find out for himself once he became President was to know what the government knew about UFO's and ET. He interviewed many top level people and was apparently satisfied that the government had no knowledge of UFO's. He even got more info about the Roswell incedent than has been declassified. He was convinced it was just a case of spy ballons and test dummies. No one has better clearance than the President, there are even special provisions for someone who keeps information from the President and staff.

I think Bush Sr knows plenty. I'm sure W Bush knows more than the average bear. But I suspect plenty is also kept from even him--unless his dad clues him in.

I wonder even how much the master puppet masters behind the scenes really know.

I think the series TAKEN now showing again on the Sci Fi channel has the mentality about right in that hideous lead character murdering his wife and whomever gets in his way of power mongering. I believe that this whole black area is manipulated for power mongering reasons by individuals and cliques. That doesn't exactly help the public find out the truth.

And, I suspect that THE TRUTH is complex enough and interspersed with enough distortion and disinformation that sorting it out in the best of times and the best of contexts would be quite beyond challenging.

Given all the givens in our crazy world, it's a wonder any shred of truth about the complex phenomena leaks out at all.

Thankfully, God has it all in HIS HANDS.

I suspect, given the rush of events at a faster and faster clip, that the UFO stuff will be surface knowledge to some degree within the next decade. Some feel within the next few years. But some have felt that many times in the past couple of decades.

Nevertheless, the graph on the quality and amount of details being disclosed has gone up increasingly sharply in the last several years.

I read a recent blurb on their UFO stuff. They evidently have soooooooooooo many abduction reports, that the bureau in charge reportedly does not even respond to the citizens unless the citizens also have convincing photos as well as their narrative reports.

I read that Speilberg said that after the screening the President came to him put his mouth close to his ear and said "very interesting movie, you don't know how close you came to the truth".

There are convincing reports from Ike's associates that Ike was increasingly aware that he had lost control of the UFO field and that those who'd gained it were not to be trusted--and THAT THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO ABOUT IT.

That's an awesome statement. But quite convincing given what Ike said and the source's relationship to Ike.

I suspect we have a different concept of "convincing". In my line of work, I have met tons of people who honestly and passionately believe in certain conclusions based on inferences they draw from certain facts. Very often, they are wrong. Often, they are wrong because they have incomplete facts, and are not aware of the existence of other relevant knowledge that would invalidate their conclusions. Another common error is that they assume a certain explanation is correct because it fits the facts, but ignore the possibility that there are other explanations that fit the facts as well.

Here's an example. Suppose Ike really did say "I've lost control of the UFO field and the people who handle it can't be trusted." You interpret that to mean a massive conspiracy to hide the existence of ET's from the President. But maybe he just meant "there are these jokers out there wasting gov't. time and money on these crackpot theories, and its tough to stamp it all out because they keep finding excuses to investigate some new piece of drivel." Personally, knowing people and their propensity to spend time on stuff they find fun and interesting, I think my inference is far more likely to be correct than yours.

In any case, you massively underestimate the power of the President. All it would take in your scenario is for the President to pop on TV, claim that rogue elements in the military and/or intelligence community are withholding information from him, and heads would roll. Heck, the President can chuck any military officer he chooses by relieving him of his duties. He could walk into Area 51 or anywhere else he chose and just start firing people. Or he could have his hand-selected Sec. Def. do it.

The difficult thing is getting a handle on the little decisions made on a daily basis, because that involves changing an entire culture. It's easy to stop the purchase of a single $600 toilet seat -- just give the order. But its harder to stop the thousands of purchases made on a daily basis.

The big things are easier, though. And the more discrete they are, the easier they are to handle. If the President had a discrete UFO issue that he thought he wasn't getting the right answers on, out comes the axe. I've seen general officers get the axe overnight because they tick off their superior, and it all rolls downhill.

This whole idea of a secret, shadow government beyond the control of the President is lunacy. There are covert ops, but they all are funded. Specific spending, even covert discretionary spending, can be tracked if you care to put someone on the job. Or you can just terminate the funding of the agency you believe is not being responsive.

CO's of Navy ships can be prevented from learning some things by skillful Chiefs or XO's. And that's small potatoes compared to the larger games in the larger arenas.

That doesn't help your argument. Small potatoes are much, much easier to hide than big ones. A chief hiding the fact that one of his guys is AWOL involves only a couple of people. A conspiracy of the size you suggest would involve thousands of people, massive equipment, and lots of money. Having spent my time in the gov't, and knowing something about budgets and spending, there is no way to conceal that stuff from a chief executive who really wants to know. Just fire the base commanders, replace them with other guys, and give those replacements the authority to fire people until they get answers. It wouldn't be tough, and it wouldn't take much time to uncover if the conspiracy is as large as you suggest.
