If he shops the right judge he'll act immediately.

No shopping needed. All cases related to Terri are required to go to Lord Voldemort himself.

"The reality is that Terri left us 13 years ago"

And you left HER 7 years ago to move in with Jodi, even though you told a jury UNDER OATH that you would devote the rest of your life to caring for her and providing therapy for her recovery.

Do the right thing tonight, Michael.

Examine your conscience. It's still not too late to change this terrible course you're on.

Why can't someone take Schiavo aside and explain to him that the bill will pass, Terri will live, and he should stop the damage right now? Surely he doesn't want her to suffer kidney failure until the next time he gets a chance to kill her?

Actually the legislature's action is only window dressing merely reaffirming the executive power Bush constitutionally had all along.

They're just saying they support what he his doing by specifically defining it.

It's not a judicial matter.

The legislature and the executive are elected by the people. The idea that the judicial branch is the final voice in anything is a myth we've been conditioned to accept.

This is true both on the state and federal level.

The people have a remedy if they disapprove of legislative or executive action. It's called elections.

They do not have that option with judges on higher courts. That's why they do not have the final say in anything except at the pleasure of those who represent the people. Otherwise we would have a dictatorship of the judiciary.

While often the judiciary acts as if they have dictatorial powers, it's only in their own minds.

The people have the final say through their power over elected officials.

I don't know. We just have to pray a lot, I guess.

You can believe that I am sick over what is happening to her tonight. In my ignorance I had imagined them feeding her after the House voted, until my husband enlightened me.

I keep trying to trust in God and I called all the serious prayer warriors I know personally and asked them to give it their all for tonight. Three very good and devout people are praying for Terri tonight, and that helps me.

He can't examine what's not there.

There is more reason for hope now than just a few hours ago. Thankfully Terri is still alive and there is finally movement, albiet belated, to do the right thing

I guess a lot of people who were stating they would cancel trips to Disney World will now be changing their minds. :)

Haven't been able to follow closely, but am still fasting and praying. I can't sleep and my husband is, so I can finally have the computer.Has anyone heard from her parents? How is she holding up? Bet Michael is getting scared. LOL

Jeb should go to the hospice himself and yell at Felos's cronies: "Mr. Supervisor, put back that tube!"

My hope is that the Bill passes and is signed by Jeb tomorrow EARLY. Then, as I understand it,
the feeding tube would be immediately reinserted.

My fear tonight is that Terri has already suffered significant damage from being without water for so long, and that providing the proper medical treatment will be subject to the whim of Michael Schiavo, the all-powerful "guardian", and his enabler, the Hanging Judge Greer.

I hope that Jeb has some trusty State Troopers ready to escort Terri to an ICU.

I heard a few days ago that her skin was cracking. She cannot be in good shape without God's mercy right now.

Above someone said a physician had said she had begun the dying process. I am hoping this means she has had some peripheral shutdown, which is easily reversible.

If it means her heartrate and respirations are changing, we could be in for a very close call.

One post said she was gagging and that is not good, because I suspect it is from her stomach lining drying out. Stomach linings don't bounce back like kidneys do.

It is up to God and I am trying not to be medical but it comes with the job. I mostly find this to be the most horrific thing in the world to do to someone.

My guess is that without an IV asap she will be in serious trouble, but it is interesting to wonder what will happen. I have been thinking she would not be in good enough shape to take to surgery for a reinsertion of the tube. I don't know if they need to anesthetize to reinsert, but I think they do.

They can put one down her nose very quickly though and get her hydrated that way.

This one -

This poor woman is dying. If this is government intrusion at its worst, then I’ll stand here and fight for that. Terri Shiavo has a right to continue. We have a right to look this through. This is not an issue we should take lightly. Taking away food and water is not a way to achieve closure.

That was representative quarkness or clarkess, or something along that way.
