Just now on live thread from the Florida House of Representatives: passes, 68 to 23, bill to give Gov. Jeb Bush authorization to issue a stay in the case of Terri Shiavo.

The bill has to go to the Senate tomorrow for them to hear and vote on it. Pray for Terri to have the strength to make it through the night and for victory in the Senate tomorrow.

I believe the bill still has to be passed by the senate. Then sent to the governor for his signature. We know what Jeb will do....what will the senators do????

If things go right and go swiftly, the tube will go in within minutes of the governor's signing it. I believe and anticipate there are some good doctors just waiting by the phone for the go-ahead.

Regarding Expansion of Call of Special Session

TALLAHASSEE- "Today I extended the call of this special session to include legislation that may help in the case of Terri Schiavo. The proposed bill would allow for a stay in cases of withholding nutrition and hydration from patients in situations similar to that of Ms. Schiavo. President King, Speaker Byrd, and others in the Legislature recognize the unique and tragic circumstances of Ms. Schiavo's case, and I am hopeful the Legislature will pass a bill immediately."
