Gov. Bush calls special session over Terri Schiavo

TALLAHASSEE, FL -- According to a news release sent by the Terry Schindler-Schiavo Foundation, Florida Speaker Johnnie Byrd will introduce "Terri's Bill" during the special session Monday.

The bill would put an immediate moratorium on all dehydration and starvation deaths in Florida. Meanwhile, supporters of Terri Schiavo showed up Sunday outside a Pinellas Park hospice.

Doctors say Schiavo has been in a vegetative state since complications from a heart attack in 1990. Her husband was granted a court order that her feeding tube be removed, saying his wife wouldn't have wanted to be kept alive.

Yeah, right, Michael. Including your future mother-in-law who has been "guarding" Terri to make sure no one does anything to help her. Your "grief" is just breaking my heart.

I sure would love to see some proof of all these things he has done to "help" her. Medical reports? Something? Maybe you can persuade if you just try a little harder. (/sarcasm)

I've run out of words as well as tears... this is no different than abortion -- the murder of an innocent human being. It's an outrage, illegal, and immoral, and I still can't believe it's happening. My stomach is tied up in knots over this, and I feel so helpless... I've called/e-mailed everyone I can think of, but I fear time is running out for Terri... God help us all.

I did a small calculation last night: vacations to Florida, for all the family and extended members whom I can persuade to stay out of that death sty, will withhold approximately $12,000 per year from Florida's tourist business, averaged out over the next fifteen years. I wouldn't want a member of my family or anyone I care about to have an accident in that death trap state. The courts, judges, and executive branch down there are too corrupted to be a safe environment for work or play.

It seemed to me, during that time, that the aides never did enough for Terri. Some days they did not put her makeup on. I would storm into the nursing home insisting that they do so.
I guess he was so busy with the makeup that he forgot about some of the therapy.... /s
