TALLAHASSEE, FL -- According to a news release sent by the Terry Schindler-Schiavo Foundation, Florida Speaker Johnnie Byrd will introduce "Terri's Bill" during the special session Monday.
The bill would put an immediate moratorium on all dehydration and starvation deaths in Florida. Meanwhile, supporters of Terri Schiavo showed up Sunday outside a Pinellas Park hospice.
Doctors say Schiavo has been in a vegetative state since complications from a heart attack in 1990. Her husband was granted a court order that her feeding tube be removed, saying his wife wouldn't have wanted to be kept alive.

Never mind. I obviously misread the post. Too much background noise in this full-of-boys house.

The bill specified no penalty for violation of the law. But does it have to? The G.A.L. could sue anyone's pants off who tried that.

OK now I'm really mad. I have emailed Matt Drudge begging him to cover Terri. I have seen nothing until today...
"tubes reinserted blah blah blah."
Matt, you're a little late bozo.

Good for you. I already tried to straighten them out on those terms a couple of times, with not even any response. There was no bigger Fox fan than I, until the last couple of weeks. I hate to say that CNN was where I had to get my Terri news all day today. I may have to re-think Fox vs. CNN.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm pretty disappointed with FoxNews, they dropped the ball on this one.

Thanks for sharing that. It would be great if we can let each other know what replies we get from the Senators and Representatives, especially for those FReepers who live in Florida. I just got this one from Senator Charlie Craley, District 4 in reply to my email last night about the vote.

Subject: RE: Vote YES on Teri's Bill - Bill S12-E
This bill has passed both chambers and now is in the hands of Governor Jeb Bush. I supported the passage of this bill in both the Rules and Calendar Committee and on the Senate Floor. If you would like to know the content of the language please go to www.leg.state.fl.us and look up HB 35E.
Thank you
Charlie W. Clary, III
State Senator, District Four

government should not be making decisions on whether your family member lives or dies.Only the constitution of the US and of Florida says citizens have the right to life. Of course if he meant the government shouldn't have to deal with rulings such as Terri's Bill, then he would be right 99.9% of the time. Terri's situation should never have gotten this far but for individuals' and the judicial branch's intent on taking away her right to life.
To: mickie
Well, that was pretty p!ss poor coverage by Shep and FoxNews...

Please ping your lists! The senate passed an amended version of Terri's bill, then the House approved the changes, Jeb signed it into law, Terri's getting her feeding tube reinserted, and Greer denied Schiavo's/Felos' request for an injunction against the new law! It's a day of miracles! Oh, and a GAL will be appointed by a different judge than Greer! Thank you, Almighty God!

In case anyone missed today's day of miracles, brought about by caring Freepers among others.
Prayers for Terri's physical and spiritual restoration.

Not even the "judicial branch" as a whole just this one punk judge Greer with crimson glasses that the case kept falling back and back and back to because the appellate courts can't take on findings of fact.

I hope that Monsieur Sh!%head ends up in prison with some very very slippery soap. He won't die, but it would make him wish he had. But then, the prisoners could say, "He really wanted it" and really, how can he object to that?ROTFLOL!!

wonder when Floridians will wake up and recall or get rid of some Judges?

Opinions on those who are not concerned with the issue and did not agree with today's decision...
like those who side with terri's husband...

To Fox News:
"Last month I ordered cable specifically so I could get Fox news. Today, I really regret that decision. What little information you guys gave (Sean Hannity is not included in my complaint - he did awesome) regarding Terri and referring to her as "vegetable" "comatose" and "brain-dead", I am now rethinking my decison and considering disconnecting my cable, and letting my family and friends who watch Fox know why.
MSNBC gave more coverage to her than you. I don't give a damn about Kobe Bryant, he is of little priority compared to Terri's situation. By not covering her as much as you should have, it is almost as if you were nailing the coffin shut.
You should be ashamed of yourselves. I know if I decide to keep my cable, Fox News will never be tuned into again.
Disgusted,
A Patron."

CNN said she was now (a half hour ago) on her way to a Clearwater hospital where she would get more appropriate care than at the hospice. Anyone know something different or more?
Guys, there's a poll at CNN that needs your vote if JEB should or should not have had the bill. Go for it!
