The video clips are a farce. They contain video shots of Terri's known reactive impulses being fraudulently prompted by voice commands. As in framing the voice commands around events that will occur irregardless of what is said.Unfortunately, your observation is correct and this is one of the times when the truth hurts. The same reaction "could" be garnered by a total stranger waiving a gun at her.
But, she has been "saved" so facts are moot and all is well. Everyone directly involved can live happily ever after.

Everyone directly involved can live happily ever after. Except for Michael Schiavo, who gets to live with this nightmare, the taxpayers of Florida who get to pay for lots of it. Lets not forget one high speed ambulance ride tonight, endangering the drivers, providers and ordinary motorists.
There is one very happy hospital administrator though, who is racking up the $$$ as we speak.

not to mention that they've had 13 years to get this footage.
Gotta pick the best parts, after all.

So, let me get this straight ... you believe that Terri's family conspired to present video evidence of a responsive Terri, ... all the while knowing that it was all a big lie ?

Imagine that - a married man believing that he could make the decisions that affect his financial and personal life without his inlaws being able to run to a ridiculous legislature.
Imagine this ... a married man who has spent the bulk of the funds earmarked for his dear wife's medical care in an attempt to starve her to death ... while shacking up with another woman and fathering (2) children outside of his loving marriage.

I do believe that 1) they picked the best footage possible of all that they had made over the years and 2) that there is a very real possibility that they misrepresent the meaning of the footage that they do use.
#1 should be without debate- think about it for half a second.
#2 also makes sense, when you know that her husband concedes that there are reflexive actions that she still performs. These reflexes can appear like they do in the video. Test of concept would be for a man she had never met to walk in and wave a gun at her and see if she watches it and smiles like every other time.
Ways to disprove this would be footage of the supposed "telephone therapy" that the family has claimed to have given her (which I'm very skeptical of; note that no tapes were released of that), or something similar that demonstrates that her movements are anything other than the reflexive actions of someone in a permanent vegetative state.
