We sure do, but we can't seem to field a American League or a Major League team, let alone the bond issues to build a stadium.

*sigh* I guess we stick to football.

10-4. My dad and I had quite a good cry over what could have been a memory maker with the Sox and Cubbies.

Damn Yankees, indeed.

"Why should we suffer so? There are so many other things to do on a Sunday afternoon."

Exactly my sentiments....

While they're losing every single game left on the schedule, we can be leading constructive lives -- by hanging at FR and saving America from Liberal despots.

Pettitte has been dominant. Sure helps NOT facing the likes of Manny, Nixon, Varitek, etal...

I'm no manager, but it seems to me that the basic strategy is to keep Pierre off the bases with 0-1 outs, and keep Pudge from getting a hit with men on base. And if Pierre gets on base early in the inning, better to concentrate on the remaining batters than get flustered by Pierre. Notice that the Marlins scored only one run in the first inning yesterday when Pierre got the leadoff bunt.

No problem. The Marlins are going home with what they wanted - a win. Mussina will get rocked and Beckett will dominate on Tuesday.

With all their righties (save for Pierre), it looks like the same guy is batting 8/9 of the time.

Yep, no doubt -- Pierre must be shut down. He is THE Marlins catalyst. And without him, they get shut out yesterday too.

I've been a Yankee hater since I was on formula. My dad is a dyed-in-the-wool Dodger fan, it's genetic.

Anyone who whups their ass is fine with me!

Disclaimer: Yankee hubby loves the Yankees and has cautioned me to keep quiet. Shhhheeeeessshh!

Uh, when a guy is pitching a 4 hit shutout, ANY team looks boring.

This is probably the SECOND Marlin game you've watched all year, and yet you say they aren't exciting. Ask the friggin' Cubs and the Giants if they are exciting.

Torre not taking anything for granted. He certainly knows about that Marlins 8-run inning against the Cubs.

Although the Marlins have played in "exciting" games, their team has NO prestige, NO name recognition, NO legacy, and brings NO panache to the Series. Just the way it is Joe.
