Pettitte has been dominant. Sure helps NOT facing the likes of Manny, Nixon, Varitek, etal... I'm no manager, but it seems to me that the basic strategy is to keep Pierre off the bases with 0-1 outs, and keep Pudge from getting a hit with men on base. And if Pierre gets on base early in the inning, better to concentrate on the remaining batters than get flustered by Pierre. Notice that the Marlins scored only one run in the first inning yesterday when Pierre got the leadoff bunt.

Yep, no doubt -- Pierre must be shut down. He is THE Marlins catalyst. And without him, they get shut out yesterday too.
