"Can Giambi, Boone, or Rivera (or maybe Sierra) deliver?"Is the Pope Jewish?
To: All
Let's just go to the 1-2-3 Ugi 9th now. We don't need to bat in this inning...

I'd like to see Sierra bat for Boone if Giambimbo gets on.

D-Train did needhouse that Ruth bailing out. Yes, he did
That 8th reminded me of the last 8th inning played in This overrated Old House that Ruth built.
-except that this time the All-Star got the hook!

My team won a playoff game thanks to a bad ump call, and the bat Bucky Dent used in 1978...

Marlins fans? No one lives in Florida but old people from other states, the college kids who wipe their chins and the assorted idiots who work in the service sector. Some people in the Panhandle and other regions of Florida actually grow things and work for a living- so sorry to them.

IMO, fish should be grilled, broiled, or smoked. That's all!

Speaking of Bucky Dent, that playoff game was the first game he had played in weeks without that protective covering on his left foot. He fouled a ball hard off his bad foot and was writhing in pain on the ground. But when he got up and walked around, I caught the look of determination in his eyes and I remember saying to my roommate that Bucky Dent was going to homer.

Can we spice it up a bit? How about changing the thread title to Dominican Republic 3; Puerto Rico 2, top 9th, 2 outs.

That will be the only World Series that franchise wins.
Ripped that team apart, and those two pitchers are gettin' old quick.

I think there are only two bona fide Marlins fans on this thread. Yep, but there are a lot of angry and bitter Red Sox fans who are resigned to fanatically rooting against a team that has b/tch-slapped them into oblivion for the last 83 years.

A little something from "Sportspickle.com" to accompany the annoying Palmiero commercials ...
Palmeiros Mistimed Viagra Dosage
Makes for an Awkward Few Innings
Rafael Palmeiro, Texas Rangers first baseman and Viagra spokesman, accidentally took a Viagra pill minutes before last nights game versus Baltimore. The result was three of the most awkward innings of the sluggers career, as his protective cup protruded noticeably under his uniform pants.
I had a pretty bad headache before the game, Palmeiro said. I mean to take a few aspirin, but I was talking to A-Rod and grabbed the wrong bottle of pills. By the time I realized what I had done it was too late.
Palmeiros arousal began in the top of the second inning, as his team was batting against Orioles starter John Stephens. I got a few weird looks from the guys in the dugout, Palmeiro said. And John Rocker walked by and asked me if I was a queer Asian.
After Carl Everett struck out to end the Rangers half of the second, Palmeiro jogged out of the dugout to take his position at first. He was jogging kind of gingerly, with his groin oddly leading the rest of his body, said Texas manager Jerry Narron. And he couldnt bend very well to field practice grounders. I knew something was up.
Witnesses say that Eric Actonski, last nights first base umpire, avoided eye contact with Palmeiro throughout the game. I think my on-field erection made some people uncomfortable, Palmeiro said.

That pitch was below his chin, way inside, delayed call. Ump must be a Sox fan.

That DR/PR thing was a backstory in that near-riot at Fenway last Saturday.

"Typical Yankee arrogance. We wuz robbed!""Jobbed," not "robbed."
The Yanks are exhausted from beating the best team in baseball (yes Boston).
If you ask if the Marlins were impressive, the answer must be a resounding NO.
If the Yankees don't take out the Flukish Fish in 6 games max, I'll be shocked.
