Let history bear witness that NO AMERICAN ever bowed down to a tyrant. And we're not about to start today. Bump.

Dog -
Peter Bergen (terrorist expert) on CNN had reported earlier that the dollar amount of the country's deficit was not released until July, which Peter took to mean OBL was definitely alive until at least July.
They mentioned couriers, just as you had, and that's why it takes so long for these videos to reach us.
Regarding Deb's find regarding Saturday 22, Shaaban 1424, when is that date on our calendar?

So he was alive when Kennedy made those remarks. If this doesn't make Congress come down on Kennedy like a ton of bricks...

Question: Could Osama's son sound
enough like him to fool "experts"?

What did OBL say explicitly about Iraq?

I doubt it..they have Bin Laden voice on tape and they compare the newest tapes to a template of him speaking.

I'd say it was translated by a speaker of American English familiar with leftwing rhetoric (where "revolutionaries" are, for some reason, always "reserving the right"). It's a good translation because it gets the message across.
However, if somebody could produce a literal, word for word translation, it might reveal a bit more about OBL (if this is indeed he).
BTW, not to call too much attention to my tinfoil hat, but has it ever occurred to anybody that OBL might be in this country? I believe he said something, somewhere along the line after 9/11 and Afghanistan, about going into the "belly of the beast."

And we haven't even "heard" this one. Of course we aren't the intended audience. Me thinks gullible AQ types will believe every word though.

I know they make technical voice
comparisons, not subject to the
limits of non-tech listening. I
know that, for example, Franklin
Graham sounds exactly like Billy
Graham to me. Wonder how machines
would evaluate the similar sound?
I can't believe this is Osama. It
doesn't compute with me.
To: txrangerette
I will bet they say the tape is real and that it is him....

I doubt a son could sound enough like his father to fool the CIA, given all their voice analysis equipment, etc.
Could they tweak together various tapes to make it sound like this one was said recently? I don't know about that either but perhaps other freepers would know.

They can say what they will...I
take from it only that AQ makes
it appear to be, as far they can
tell.
Osama or fake, can you imagine
the political fallout of having
the AQ tape spout the wording of
TK & the Dems???
This is strange.

"My belief is this money is being shuffled all around to these political leaders in all parts of the world, bribing them to send in troops,"
- Sen. Edward M. Kennedy
Bush and his gang, with their heavy sticks and hard hearts, are an evil to all humankind. They have stabbed into the truth, until they have killed it altogether in the eyes of the world. With this behaviour they have encouraged hypocrisy, and spread vice and political bribes shamelessly at the level of heads of state.
