FREEPERS, I have taken a break from Terri's 24/7 Vigil to ask for your participation in the next phase of trying to save Terri's life while we wait for good news.

I have not received the Governor's Itinerary for the following week yet from myflorida.com.

We are asking Floridians and out-of-staters to freep the Governor's Mansion in Tallahassee.

If you need ideas for signs, it's basically urging Governor Bush to issue an executive order to stay Terri's starvation.

At this time, the Florida Supremes are reviewing filings today by Terri's counsel.

We need northern Florida to freep Jeb Bush STAT whether he's there or not.

Finally, if anyone receives Jeb's schedule in their e-newsletter, please post it here so we can hold Terri vigils in whatever town Jeb is in.

FWIW, my mother in law was on a feeding tube for over a year. She had ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) and her ability to speak and eventually swallow were taken.

She did let it be well known that she did not want to be put on a respirator when her ability to breath on her own was lost. The feeding tube did give her a good year of watching her grandchildren grow. Obviously, these are very different situations...just wanted to point out that sometimes life support measures are well worthwhile.

WHY would HE get guardianship?...just because he was her husband?

In a normal case, granting guardianship to the spouse would be the reasonable and correct thing to do. Among other things, the spouse would normally be expected to live longer than the parents and has also typically taken a vow to love, honor, cherish, and care for, in sickness and in health.

The problem in this case is that even if 99% of the time a willing spouse would be the best guardian for a disabled person, occasionally someone will end up disabled with a spouse like Schiavo. Usually this isn't too much of a problem, because usually someone won't end up disabled with a husband like Schiavo and a judge like Greer. Unfortunately, that particular combination looks like it can be deadly.

I don't find this report credible. If anyone connected to either of the Bush brothers did what is being alleged here, cbs/abc/nbc/cnn would've gone live with breaking news. Ted Kennedy or Tom Daschle would be on all the wires within hours calling for impeachment hearings.

On the other hand, I just heard something startling on cnn radio news. I'd been heartened to notice the past 2 days they'd started correctly describing Terri as a "brain damaged woman". Just this minute I heard a cnn radio news update once again describing her as "a comatose woman". Here's what wouldn't surprise me: Felos or Greer's office making phone calls to media outlets threatening legal action if they didn't stop misstating the court record (according to Greer's interpretation). Then, I could easily imagine Felos' team planting this story about JB or GWB threatening the media. That makes sense.

The court record is the court record so they couldn't go against anything by reporting whatever is in the court record.. and anyone impartial who were to review the court record would be siding for Terri's side due to the criminal aspects and complicities of Greer, etc. Felos, etc. that have entered and that people have become aware of.

Under the liberal reasoning, why couldn't Nancy Reagan say, "I have done enough. Let's stop feeding him"? He has no "quality of life" any more.

I agree that would be true if an impartial reviewer read all the evidence in the court record. But, I think mainstream journalism is lazy in the extreme. They don't develop stories, they only report what's spoon fed to them. My guess is that, since Greer made a judicial decision that Terri is comatose, if someone from his (or Felos') office called cnn and reprimanded them for representing that Terri is brain damaged rather than comatose, most news outlets would roll over and pee on themselves. Just my speculation, but it makes more sense to me than GWB or JB being able to control cnn.

To me, this report would make as much sense as reading that GWB called Hillary and confessed that the WH knows who leaked the Wilson name, but you better not tell anyone I said that.
