[history]
A Halliburton cook in Baghdad is a VIP in the Middle East. Just ask the soldiers she serves. She has never met Richard Cheney, the former CEO of the company who now is the vice president of the United States.

In World War II we built warships. In Vietnam we constructed airfields and port facilities. In Somalia, Rwanda, Haiti and the Balkans we worked alongside the troops to help provide a sense of normalcy to those countries. In 1991, during the first Gulf War, our people helped extinguish over half of the oil fires in Kuwait. ....Frankly, I know the political attacks will continue. As CEO of a great company with 100,000 employees, I am extremely proud of our work and our ability to do the tough job--we thrive on the challenge. Every one of us will be resolute in our commitment to deliver the essentials to the men and women who are serving our country. They deserve nothing less.
We have an army of civilian workers in Iraq today, many Veterans offering their services to help today's younger generation of warriors.

I wonder if the media 'filter' that President Bush referenced will allow this information about Hallibuton's work to reach 'mainstream' Americans!

They're all partisan attacks. These contracts were bid competively before Cheney to last X number of years. If the US government decided to bid a contract out in March it would take 3-6 months to award it at minimum. If US soldiers had no support, they would be in a real quagmire. Its just partisan attacks, but its bad press on all the business Halliburton does. Obviously no one complained during WWII when the government asked Brown & Root to build ships for them. The Democratic party wasnt firing attacks when Brown & Root shipyards built the most amount of ships for the US during WWII. The left just loves to fire attacks in every direction, hoping one will stick.

It's refreshing when the truth cuts through multitude of lies told by the hyper-partisan Left.
Thanks.

We see almost daily compliments paid to Halliburton by our coalition troops, how they go the extra mile.
My otherly-surnamed son-in-law was with Halliburton, now with KBR.
They're world-class, do what no one else can.
While Demunist critics are Harry Truman's jackasses, kicking barns down.

Thanks for the input, Phil.
Read the other day (and can't find the source - if you see this repeated, please ping me!) that we now have ~ 100,000 US civilians working in Iraq to help our troops with stabilization/reconstruction efforts.
I've received some amazing e-mail from civilians - Veterans, going to Iraq to make sure fewer of the younger, less experienced troops are killed.
Takes your breath away, the decency of some of our fellow Americans.

The left just loves to fire attacks in every direction, hoping one will stick. The business of journalism is to attract attention by topical nonfiction. IOW, the reporter has to project the image of being smart, or at least "in the know." What is the easiest way to be smart? Why, of course, to do your quarterbacking on Monday morning . . .
IMHO second-guessing is integral to leftism. Which might explain why the leftist is so great in prospect and so abysmal in actual performance. They sell sizzle but deliver no steak.
