Since the Feds have no problem withholding Highway funds unless states unless the blood alcohol level is incrementally lowered again and again, I'm sure they'll be quick to withhold all federal funds until cities like Philadelphia, New York etc comply with established federal laws and cooperate in their enforcement... unless W. is complicit in this "open the borders in a transparent attempt to toady up to the hispanic vote", right?

INTREP - Again, what part of "illegal" don't they understand?????????

How can these cities officials be so blind. It is the illegal immigrants that are causing so many of the budget problems. Here in Houston we have heard reports of illegal using speeding tickets as I.D. , of course they never come to pay the fine. In the hospital emergency rooms there is a three hour wait because the illegals are using the hospitals as primary health care. Not only that the idiot mayor has built centers for undocumented workers (illegal aliens) to get hired by employers (corrupt law breakers).

The Hispanic vote is here, and growing. Election after election (the California recall being only the latest) has proven that Republicans can make a powerful appeal to Hispanic voters. We have NO HOPE of being a majority party in the 21st century if we don't continue to build on this progress. Plenty of "ethnically Democrat" groups (Italians, for example) were won over to voting Republican in very good numbers as they progressed in the middle class.
This doesn't mean that we can't have a sensible immigration policy -- Hispanic voters don't oppose that. It does mean that our policies shouldn't be driven by racial rhetoric, and our policies and rhetoric should have some manner of compassion for people who cross deserts on foot for the privilege of working our hardest and lowest-paid jobs.

The city is violating federal law. I can't wait for a city worker to call INS about some illegals and then be fired by the city. Someone who wants to quit his city job should do just that. He may end up with a huge award in the subsequent lawsuit.

I don't know if it will do any good, but I sent the story to O'Reilly. He seems to be the only one who will at least talk about this garbage.
Here's a BTTT too.

GWB is the guilty party. ......appointing Tom Ridge to head homeland security. Tom Ridge says we can't seal off borders between legal crossings because of "political and cultural" reasons. There you have it. Right from the man on top and his sidekick.

Well, if it's OK for a state/city to legalize medical marijuana in violation of federal laws, then I don't see how this is any different.
I mean, states rights and all, huh?
Of course, these illegals will eventually be applying for some kind of federal assistance which WILL come out of your pocket. But, Philadelphia says screw you.
