The IDF permitted hundreds of Jewish worshippers access to Joseph's Tomb in Nablus to pray at the shrine early Thursday.
Later the worshippers left in buses accompanied by IDF forces who guarded them throughout the visit.
Shortly after their departure a group of Palestinian youths arrived at the site and set fire to the shrine throwing burning tires inside the compound.
The local Palestinian fire brigade arrived and extinguished the flames.
It was the fourth time authorization was given to Jews to pray at the site since security forces were forced to leave the site in October 2000 as a Palestinian mob descended, ransacked and vandalized the holy site and prevented the evacuation of Border policeman Madhat Yusef who bled to death.
IDF officials said the approval was given to the worshippers because of the Succoth holiday. It was the largest group ever to be allowed to enter the area.
In the past three years, hundreds of Jews have snuck into the tomb to pray illegally despite a ban issued by the OC Central Command that forbids Israelis from entering areas under full Palestinian control.
In September, Palestinians shot at IDF paratroopers who had reached the site to evacuate a number of Jewish worshippers who arrived without permission to pray there.
Israeli security officials said the last time the army gave permission to a group of religious Jews was in July.
In the early morning hours the worshippers erected a Succa at the site and former Sephardic chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu led them in prayers.
Hey, if they say they want to kill Jews and Christians, can't we get them kicked out of kindergarden or something?
We are at war and we must defeat our Islamist enemy. If our government fails us then WE THE PEOPLE are obligated to defend our nation ourselves.
Locked, loaded, informing, praying.
Which is nothing compared to an eternity of fire they'll witness.
Said separating is NOT a constitutional mandate, it is however, a wise policy by both the church and the state, just as Jefferson stated in a private letter! The Constitution only forbids Congress to make laws regarding religion. It certainly did not forbid religious individuals from being appointed to the high courts to interpret laws!
I'm afraid the militant muslims are the Nazis of the 21st century and are without souls in their terrorism, IMHO.
I'm also sensing a terrible division amongst conservatives between the secular and religious. It has become especially appearant here in CA since the Riordan/Simon clash in the Republican Primary and even has begun showing it's ulgy side here on FR during the Recall.
Fundamentalism in Judaism, Christianity, Islam are all under attack these days as the liberal humanist media tries to lump all Fundamentalists into a marginalized postion with Islamic Fundamentalists. This is quite dangerous and must not be allowed to stand!
Just because even constitutional fundamentalists have minimum standards/ideals, they are portrayed as rigid absolutists that can't be bent, so they must be broken, or at least brow-beaten as I've seen even here on FR in recent weeks. I think that is wrong, too. (just my opinion)
Then why did you bring it up, moron!
Hi...Sheik and Everyone,
NOTHING is "holy" or "Sacred" to these ISLAMA-NAZI - SEED OF AMALEK BA*TARDS.
They MURDER their own Mothers and Children in Cold Blood.
So why should they give a flying Camel Dung about anything HOLY?!
Yosef's Tomb was once so very Beautiful and Peaceful.
I care MORE about JEWISH LIVES than a Tomb.
These ISLAMA-NAZI DEMONS must be STOPPED once and for ALL!
Sha'alu Shalom Yerushalayim!....
Pray for The PEACE of Jerusalem!
PS: This evening ushers in a Very Holy Shabbos because it is also Hoshana Rabbah 5764!
I can only imagine what would happen if Canadiens or Mexicans started doing daily homicide bombings on us, sniping at us and mortar attacks from across the border, and then began destroying our sacred shrines like the Statue of Liberty, and the Licoln Memorial etc...
