Maybe they thought life was so bad in Mexico that they had to come here - only to find a hard death in harsh conditions. They made the CHOICE to break the law and invade our country. They should be thankful we don't have the military on the border shooting those trying to cross illegally!

Has in occurred to you that the only thing that distinguishes you from those who dies in the desert is luck?

The open borders are in invitation to disaster.
If the government won't do anything about it the citizens soon will need to.

This is exactly why we should erect a fence and put armed men on the border.
Not only do they not care about breaking our laws by coming here illegally but they don't understand the dangers either.
I feel bad for the children that are dragged along to die.

Wassamatta? No Christian sympathy for the dead?
Whatever they did, dying like this is horrible.

criminal invaders. If they are Al Qaeda, are they still undocumented immigrants?

I have two thoughts after reading this America bashing story:
I thought that one of the reasons for ratifying the NAFTA treaty was to help Mexico and other nations to our south operate businesses so that those to break our laws by coming here for jobs would stay and work at home;
and the word
"Immigrant" does not apply in this story - it's called
"Illegal Alien."We must quit allowing lying liberals to infect the meaning of words now!

Yes, there are legal means of entering the U.S., but if you and your children are starving, would you steal a loaf of bread? People in dire circumstances do things they normally wouldn't. These people paid for their actions with their lives, but how many of our forefathers would have taken the same risks?
Maybe you're right though, maybe the Pilgrims should just have stayed home in Merry old England. Afterall, many of them died trying to find a better life.

Some migrants claw at the ground with their fingernails, trying to hollow out a cooler spot to die. Others pull themselves through the sand on their bellies, like they're swimmers or snakes. The madness sometimes prompts people to slit their own throats or to hang themselves from trees with their belts. Read any Western fiction - Louis L'Amour, Luke Short, Zane Grey - and you will see these descriptions of death in the desert. I seriously challenge the author to prove that this is what is happening to the illegal immigrants.
I'm not about to diminish the reality of such deaths, but I resent the use of hyperbole and fiction to sensationalize a political position. AZCentral is the on-line presence of the Arizona Republic, once a respected conservative publication.

I wonder what would happen to a young boy who, with his mother and other close friends, braves the open sea trying to escape oppression and come to the United States. He witnesses his fellow freedom seekers drown and eaten by sharks. He owes his own life to dolphins and a fisherman. He is welcomed by loving family in the United States.
What would happen to that immigrant, who, because of his country of origin and by circumstance, would actually be legal once setting foot on US soil? Would our government honor him with freedom or condemn him to tyranny?
Plenty of European immigrants died ugly deaths on ill maintained steam ships too.
America is obviously worth dying for.
Thank you God for allowing me to be born here.

Well, duh! And your point is? If the criminals seek to infiltrate and then say they will overthrow the government in the southwestern states, hasta la vista, las espaldas mojadas.

This past year, the bodies of 205 undocumented immigrants were found in Arizona. Murdered by the policies of a nation that does nothing for them except encourage them to be elsewhere; Mexico.

Most deaths due to non-natural causes are horrible and can be written up in this manner. Do you smell a not-so-hidden agenda?
