PLEASE ,PLEASE go to the website http://www.terrisfight.org and read the letters that have just been sent to Jeb Bush in regards to the Terri Schiavo case. JEB BUSH can LEGALLY STOP THIS. CALL his office, CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES, CALL and email the media.THE CLOCK is ticking to save her life.

Sorry if this post isn't " polished" and " refined" but I am not a seasoned " poster" here on FR.

Iowa Mom, remember that Greer and the FL "Supremes" are all for the most part appointees of the popular Democrat Gov. Lawton Chiles. They are all peas in the FL pod.

I think your idea is valid and well worth looking into. I know that on an earlier thread you mentioned getting a good PR person in on Terri's side. (At least I'm thinking it was you, if not, sorry.) That Randall Terry and some other higher profile people have come on board to help Terri' s parents get a broader audience has proven to be helpful. Since the regular media started carrying this story, even if only for a few days, it has significantly increased awareness about Terri's plight. Those of us fighting for her right to food and water (if not more) have at least been able to engage others in valid discussion about this issue. Some are beginning to see that Terri's case is not the way it has been being portrayed by the media until most recently. IOW, it wasn't very accurate, and the media is now reporting a more complete picture than it was say a month ago.

But why does Bush have to do this? The parents would have standing to press charges, I would think.

The best legal minds on the Gov's team concluded there was nothing he could legally do, and they are entirely correct.

Bull$#!+. Or, ignorance. Take your pick, the net result is the same.

Read here to see what the Best Legal Minds -- the ones he solicited for their advice -- told him.

You, "sir", are a blowhard, a stuffed shirt, and an ankle-biter.

Take a hike. And lose the "sir" crap while you're at it.

I find it a shame that your desire to acheive 15 minutes of fame had you giving such bad advice to the family... if that is even remotely true. Personally, I think they looked too smart to be suckered in by you.

How smart can someone like you be to want to take credit for this sad, cruel fiasco?

Doesn't the family have enough problems without you using their daughter's death to do your "ashes and sackcloth - last angry man" routine?

Have you no decency, Sir?
Have you no shame?

Blow it out your... tailpipe.

And lose the "Irate Blowhard" routine.

First, where do you divine the notion that I've been giving them "advice"?

Second, as to "fame", hah! What a putz. If I wanted "fame", I'd give a URL to my own site. I've got all the fame I need. More, in fact. I'm not into it. But, as a fairly well-known author in my field, I'm sorta stuck with it.

Nice try.

And do lose that pathetic "sir" crap, OK? It does not wear well on you, My Good Man.

Now, Don Joe, he may be none of those things -- just a died-in-the-wool Bush apologist, perhaps?

My thinking is that this should have been pursued in criminal court, instead of civil court.

They tried.

They tried everything.

The fix was in from day one.

Don't let yourself be upset by the johnie-come-lately self-styled legal expert/blowhards with their infinite faith in the court system.

People get screwed over in courts. Lives get destroyed in courts. It's a fact. And it's no secret.

Is it possible, when drawing up a living will, to state that you want person X to make the decisions for you?

Absolutely! I could have simply designated someone to make the decision. I chose to make the decision myself that no heroic measures be taken, and designated my wife, and alternately my children to see that my decision was carried out.

Of course, this was probably a poor decision, since it has been pointed out that my logic is flawed, and I am generally cold, vicious and inhumane.

I just received an email from a very highly placed source that says it looks like the fight is over. I am awaiting clarification but it does not sound good.

Thanks for the ping. It REALLY doesn't help at all that today is Friday. The papers that were sent off...well, business doesn't happen on weekends.

I'm supportive of going in and taking her out. I may catch hell for saying that.

But Right is Right. Even if it is wrong.

No, I believe it ranks right up there with, Peter's statement, We must obey God, rather than man? Acts 5:29

Well, we have know in our hearts that it was over long ago. We just did not fathom how so much injustice could be perpetrated in a "conservative" state like FL. The appeals courts won't review facts, only legal procedures. That's why appeals are often so worthless. They won't even consider later facts in an appeal that were not available in the trial.

I still say that a "Governor Reno" would have never allowed one of her liberal base constituents to be treated in this shabby fashion. She would have come in with the state police and rescued the damsel. And the Bush conservatives know that too. I will never forgive Jeb Bush for letting this disabled vulnerable woman die.

How about suing Terri herself?
If the court has found that she actually issued that statement about wanting to die rather than live like this, one might keep her alive by making her a party to a lawsuit, for having enabled this situation. No one should have a right to suicide in a manner so barbaric, or to require other people to assist in such a thing. She is violating the rights of hospital personnel and making them subject to criminal charges.
If she is at all a person under the law, use the law to compel her to cease and desist in this inhuman performance of a criminal act, which makes others guilty and endangers all of us by its precedent.
Ah, but she is no person, Judge Greer has declared her "property."

This is not the update I hoped for; it's not much of an update at all.

Someone very highly placed emailed me to say that it looks like the fight is over. I am awaiting clarification, but I fear the worst.
