Time To Engage God's (America's) Enemies

Time To Engage God's (America's) Enemies

It has been said that all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to stand by and do nothing. It's time for Christians to pull our heads out of the sand and take a stand.

One man in California has the Supreme Court of this land now reviewing whether the phrase "under God" should be removed from our Pledge of Allegiance. The Chief Justice of State of Alabama cannot have a display of the Ten Commandments on courthouse property, despite that they are commonly acknowledged to be the basis for all of Western Law. A high school in Louisiana is being sued by the ACLU for saying prayers before football games.

The Liberal Secular Extremists cite the mythical "wall of separation" clause... which appears nowhere in our Constitution.

This is a war, and it is a war to remove every mention of God from every corner of American public life. The goal here is not to enforce our Founders' intent in having written the Constitution, rather it is to eradicate the single source of goodness, truth, and justice (and all of our Constitutionally listed rights...!) the world has in its possession... the Holy Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

If indeed our Rights as enumerated in our Constitution are inalienable—that is, cannot be taken from us—because, as our founders wrote, they are granted to us by God the Creator Himself, what praytell becomes of those "Rights" once God is forbidden His rightful place... or even any place... in our society or Government?

If the Christians in America, a nation founded by Christians upon the solid rock of the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, do not fight back with everything God has blessed us with, then we are giving victory to an evil which intends to consume us. We are allowing the immoral to dictate the terms to the moral, and that is then game, set, and match.

There is far more at stake here than whether Washington was a Deist, or whether one sentence from Jefferson's letter to some guy in Connecticut should be used to supersede and reinterpret our entire Constitution. These are not valid arguments, and The Library of Congress has extensive documentation available online which dispels any such deceit.

http://lcweb.loc.gov/exhibits/religion/religion.html

For this war to have gotten to the advanced stage where it now sits on our doorstep and snarls at us like the Hounds of Hell unleashed is the fault not of the minions of Satan who merely do the bidding of their vile master, rather it is the fault of every Christian in this once God-fearing nation who has sat idly by and hoped it would go away.

It is not going to go away. It is coming for us... in our homes, our schools, our places of work and our places of worship. It is time to take a stand and speak the Truth. Then speak It again. And again.

Inasmuch as this conflict, for the time being, remains a war of ideas and ideology, it is still possible to fight it just by speaking out, by letting the Holy Spirit within us move our hearts and tongues to take a vocal and unrelenting stand for what is right.

Whether our discourse in this matter offends some Muslims or Krishnas is not at issue. It is, in fact, a non-issue, and has no place in our deliberations. It is a diversion concocted by those who hate God.

The only issue here is whether our discourse offends God. We can pray that it lifts Him up in praise and glorifies Him, for that in the only way that we will succeed in our quest.

We must raise an outcry that reaches not only to the ACLU, not only to our schools, not only to the courts, not only to the Congress of the United States...

...but one which reaches straight to Heaven, for it is there, and there alone, where all hope for mankind—and America—lies.

May God give us His will, the strength to fight this good fight.

...or for us to be silenced or excluded by those who're willing to see all aspects of Christian morality thrown from this society in particular.

My point is that those people are a tiny minority.

You have every right to worship in church, worship in public, or on the radio, or on TV, or with billboards, or in magazines, or on the internet, or...

There's a (I believe) a Buddhist guy who stands on the streetcorner of Westheimer & Fondren here in Houston regularly praying. Nobody bugs him. Nobody should.

John Jay was a bigot?
He advocated a law that barred Roman Catholics from becoming citizens of New York State. He sure was.

With that statement above, I think no more conversation is necessary. I know now very clearly where you're coming from. All those who voted for Beelzebubba are now vindicated, as he was a Christian. I knows it ! I seen him carryin' his Bible !

Clinton was no Christian - his rotten fruit proved that. Jay was - his good fruit proved that. Apparently, you have no discernment and do not understand what I was saying. Go away - I have no more time for you.

"The reason he said that is bon-Christians do not have truth, do not have the moral compass (relativism is the only other option), and therefore cannot be trusted to govern according to absolute moral principles (which they do not recognize - their authority is man)."

Wow. Pious and anti-Semitic to boot. Well done! I'm sure the Jewish Freepers are thrilled to hear they don't have a moral compass and cannot be trusted.

Seig Heil, exmarine!

Anglo Liberalism was the "classic" Lasseiz-faire variety and bears ZERO resemblance to liberalism of today. That form of liberalism stated that "that government that governs best governs least"

Nice quote..

Our 'marine', who claims to be a defender of our constitution, is digging himself a deep hole today, as evidenced by his answer to the remark below:
"You and others desire a Christians-only gov't with no respect or legal privelege afforded to other faiths."

That's right. --- we should "prefer and select ONLY Christians" as our leaders.

Agreed, it's a tiny minority - but I have difficulty accepting or understanding why a "tiny minority" be allowed to dictate to a majority.

IMO, Justice Scalia's recusing himself from this very issue because of Newdow's request is a prime example of Christian beliefs on important issues are being excluded for "fear of injustice", yet justices proned to hold any other view are seldom ever asked to do the same.

You and I are on different wavelengths - that is for sure. You do not understand that there is a battle waging in this country between secular humanism and Christianity. The two worldviews are antithesis to one another. Secular humanists do not have truth and can't be trusted to govern according to God's justice and truth. Worldview is EVERYTHING. A secular humanist does not believe in God, therefore believes in darwinistic evolution, therefore that all reality can be reduced to mere material forces, and that religion is just superstitious nonsense! A Christian believes inGod, in special creation, that God governs in the affairs of men, and that human beings have intrinsic value. It's TOTAL DIFFERENCE.

Secular humanists are out to destroy my religious freedom - no doubt about it. That is why I vote for Christians, and that is why Christians had better wake up and remember that politics and faith are not separate - ALL OF LIFE IS SPIRITUAL and Jesus is Lord over ALL OF LIFE EQUALLY.

"Christ did not promise a lack of suffering in this world for his followers- in fact he guaranteed suffering. If your grandmother believed in Him, then her soul is indeed with God, which is the ultimate blessing. And there's nothing at all to be ashamed about proclaiming that fact."

A. She was my mother-in-law, not grandmother, who lived for 88+ good years.

B. The unsupported "fact" that he proclaimed was not that believers go to heaven (which I don't argue, nor can I prove), but that those who 'obey Him' are always blessed. From what I've seen, that's not necessarily so, at least during their time on this Earth.

I see - you can't respond with any arguments of SUBSTANCE, so you resort to insults and SLANDER. It shows your LACK OF INTELLIGENCE.

Why do you even bother to call modern leftist thought "liberalism?" There is nothing liberal about it. It is even less liberal than most modern "conservatives" who are in reality more fascistic than they are modern ideological descendants of Locke and our founders. One of the best articles IMO on FR in a long time was one lamenting how conservatism today is more about views on morality and religion than economics, individual rights, a commitment to a traditional, non-interventionist foreign policy and all that jazz.

"By the way, Christians would not restrict anyone's right to believe in whatever religion they want or worship wherever and whenever they want. Where do you think the idea of FREEDOM comes from? Let me give you a hint:"

Of course they wouldn't. They're not allowed to. Read the Constitution.

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty. 2Cor. 3:17.

And ONLY in Christ is there freedom. "

That's nice for Christians, but our Islamic, Jewish, Hindu, and other citizens don't hold the Bible in the same esteem that you do.

I am not aware of this, and do not necessarily agree with it. I would have to research it to get a complete picture. However, I still believe I should vote only for Christians and stand by it. I don't care what you think of it. That is my choice and it is what I will do. Secular humanists are my enemy and I will NEVER vote for one of them - humanism is ANTI-FREEDOM and ANTI-CONSERVATIVE. Just ask Stalin, Mao, Kim Jung-Il or Castro about humanism.

Why don't you at least try to counter his claim?

Resorting to calling it so absurd as to be unworthy of your criticism is not a retort, it is a cop out. But then I would be hardly surprised if your best intellectual defense of your faith is Credo Quia Absurdum....

"but we demand the freedom of acknowledging our heritage (which is based upon faith in the God of the Bible) not be denied us or for us to be silenced or excluded by those who're willing to see all aspects of Christian morality thrown from this society in particular. "

No problems with that. Just don't use my taxes to preach your views. Don't teach your Christian version of morality to my kids at school -- my church will take care of my children's religion, not some gov't school that can barely teach the 3 Rs as it is.

I have still yet to see where Christianity is being silenced. So two rock tablets got taken out of a courthouse - so what? They're symbols - NOT idols to be worshipped. Not a single law exists that prevents you from praying to your God in a church. No law prevents a church from being built solely based on the faith of that church (zoning laws are another matter). I just don't get all the hollering from the Christian right on this - sorry.

"My question to you is...what version of Christianity gets to be the 'public' one?"

Let's try to get back on topic here, n'kay?

The question (posed to Christian Freepers) is are we going to make our voices heard on these PC red-herring attempts to stifle any mention of God in America.

Your diversionary, baiting phlegm is not asked, needed, or appreciated.

One of the hardest things in life for me to keep reminded of is that blessings aren't necessarily measured in quantative form, but in quality.

If you don't cease with your bogus strawmen, the exchange will end. I'm sick of that crap. You either argue against the black and white points I made, or take a hike.

These people are free to worship as they wish, however, they are not free to restrict my freedom, and I woujld never trust muslims (egad!) or hindus to govern according to truth. Some jewish people are the exception (the truly conservative ones who take the bible seriously - medved, Schlesinger, Prager, etc.).
