Pulled Thread by FR Admin

Posted on 10/15/2003 5:12:48 PM PDT by SandRat

FR Admin pulled a thread just now where in the politics section a Guardian Unlimited © Guardian Newspapers Limited 2003 Registered in England and Wales. No. 908396. Registered office: 164 Deansgate, Manchester M60 2RR web site poseter asked a question that goes beyond the pale regarding Pres. Bush.

He-He-He.

Come tomorrow morning I am turning in his posting to the authorities via my work security officer. Hope he enjoys the vist from MI5, the FBI and the Secret Service.

Yes...it was actually pretty hot, IIRC. lol
You were vindicated, though, and you hung in there.

The reception you received probably would have made me cry. ;o)

One question...was the pic from Conan O'Brian's show?

I was too mad to cry.
I didn't sleep a wink the night before so I was running on adrenalin.
If I could have gotten to that talk show host he wouldn't have had to worry about criminal charges for suggesting the assassination of GW.

I'm pretty sure it was Conan O'Brian's show, but I can't be positive.
I remember what he looks like (I'll never forget that!), but not the name.
He came on at 11:30 in the Houston area, and it was the one and only time I ever watched him.

Not anymore. Here is what I got when trying to go to that thread:

Well, we knew it would eventually be deleted. I wonder what took so long.

This article below was in Best of the Web Today:

We Get Results
London's Guardian has removed from its Web site an online discussion we noted yesterday on the topic "Is it time to assasinate [sic] George Dubya Bush?" Actually, we don't know exactly what prompted the Guardian to take it down; it's possible that the headline of this item should read "The Secret Service Gets Results." But now the Guardian has a new discussion in which people are claiming that incitement to murder is "free speech."

BTW, for those of you who don't know, I'm the one that posted the thread that got pulled (it was pulled 2 minutes after posting, but mhking still got a JD ping in before it was pulled!).

I was going to find the link to that thread, but all of your "freeper in a former life" posts are gone. Then, I searched the archives and nothing came up. I'm sure it's here somewhere. Do you remember the title? I would love to read it again.

"I'm pretty sure it was Conan O'Brian's show, but I can't be positive."

I think it was,,,

"Do you remember the title?"

LOL!
Thank you.

I can't even remember where my car keys are as soon as I lay them down.
But it would be fun to read again!

That's good in a way.
When someone responds you can read it like it was the first time, and say, "Wow! That's really interesting!"

Oh, yeah!
I giggle every time I find a sock that I thought the dryer ate four months ago!
Everytime I clean up my garage I find a tool that I've been thinking about buying and forgot that I already had it!
Yes, life gets better as the memory goes to pot.

Here, in Oregon, you can get a prescription for that. ;o)

No, it was from Craig Kilborn's.

BTW, Kilborn and his "writing" staff did get in a little trouble for their so-called joke. The Secret Service paid them a little visit and said "If you do it again, we will arrest you." In addition, CBS brass said "If you ever do it again, it'll be your final broadcast."

They haven't done anything of the sort since.

"No, it was from Craig Kilborn's."

Thank you, Timesink, for jogging this old memory.

I never heard of any repercussions from that, but I'm certainly glad he caught some heat.
'Course I would prefer that he'd still be in jail.
