Please tell me you're only talking about the possibility of snatching Terri, and taking her to an undisclosed location to care for her.

Is Jeb just trying to get brownie points acting like he is going to do something or is he really trying to keep Terri from dying. I don't think it will be good enough in regards to "trying" unless Terri gets to live. Jeb's done all he can do.

Well I think it would be a horrible game to play. I do hope that Jeb has the heart and his legal team have the know how and gumption to save Terri. I would hope they
do ASAP.

Of course................
The special forces guys are trained to save lives by rescuing the wounded and imprisoned.
I think that description fits.

I just discussed with my husband how we all need living wills so that we will never put our loved ones at one another's throats like this, trying to read our minds. This could happen even when everyone involved is truly interested in the very best for the comatose person. We have them. In Wisconsin, they're called "durable power of attorney for health care."
I got into a huge fight with one of my sisters who me she was going to be the one to make the decision concerning my father, that it'd be her decision "to pull the plug." I told her that if she even thought about it, especially because he was competent enough to make his own decisions at the time she told me--and continued to be competent until he died--that if she tried to pull anything like that, I would sue the living crap out of her. It was very divisive in the family.
I had no opinion on whether to use extraordinary measures or not to use extraordinary measures. It was my father's life and it was his choice, and I'd support the decision he made. Ultimately, he decided on no extraordinary measures and died in his own bed, like he wanted.

I agree. I know he is trying, I want him to try harder. He has conections and knows people who can get things done. I will be very disappointed in him if he can't think of something.

common sense - funding/defending legal cases for years and years is very expensive and in this case you have a civil war - the deadliest kind of war. A million bucks doesn't go very far these days.

My curiosity is getting the better of me so I want to ask this. IF a "group", say some ex military types, went in and "rescued" Terri, could they take her to Canada or somewhere and get her the therapy that she needs? What sort of extradition laws do we have with Canada? Would they apply to Terri? Come on and indulge me...anyone????
To: sinkspur
Jeb's done all he can do. He's done all he's willing to do. Why doesn't he get his brother to do something? Does the president of the United States not have enough power to stop this death sentence?

He's a President, not a king.

What civil war are you refering to? There was $750,000 put in a trust fund for Terri. I bet you some of it is left. Besides I think his motive is that he tried to kill her and he does not want her to talk, or in event of divorce he does not want her to have half of anything. Death for Terri is the only way for him to be free to spend whatever money he has.

Your "rescue" is a kidnapping. We have an extradition treaty with Canada, and although their jails are cushier than ours, the kidnappers would be sitting in them until they're extradited back to the states. Terri would be sent back--if, of course, the move didn't kill her first.

A war within a family is akin to civil war - a deadly thing. There is no money left; to think so is naive.
