Post responses on this thread. Do or die for the Marlins. Break the Curse and Go to the Series or sink into ignominy for yet another year for the Cubbies.
Which will it be? Quien es mas macho?
Remember, Obey the Billygoat.....

Well, I guess Chicago should just stick to fixing elections. They know how to do that. As usual, an astute observation!

I tell ya; some of those Miami vacation deals he was offered sound pretty good especially with winter coming.

Let's talk about next year.....next year.
This is worse than 1969, and worse than 1984. Up 3-1 against the wild card team with your last 2 games at home pitching the two best guys the team has had in at least 20 years. God, this hurts.
I didn't see many games this year, but based on the playoffs Dusty is a zero as a motivator. I don't see the Cubs getting over the hump with him in charge unless they have Yankee-level talent.

I'm betting on his being run over.
This guy steps off the sidewalk and he's roadkill.
Come to think of it, he's not safe on the sidewalk.
Just let that little old lady that was crying at the end of the game see him walking down the street.

Well, I guess Chicago should just stick to fixing elections. You know it's probably not a curse of a goat or the Bambino, God is punishing them for the Dailys and Kennedys.

Oh you don't get it. The Cubbies fans will just make this part of the lore. The joshing and kidding about the curse being carried on by the Bart/Goatman is part of the charm.
To: ambrose
I think many Braves fans would GLADLY take Jack McKeon or
even Tom Lasorda out of mothballs instead of Bobby Cox!!

Marry the goat? And then some.
To: COURAGE
The ultimate revenge for any Cubs fans is now for the Marlins to beat the *&^(*&%%^# Yankees!

My condolences to Cubs fans - my liberal commie in-laws (who I dearly love) are all Cubbies too. They could hardly bear to watch tonight - they knew the Curse was alive.
That poor crying old lady...but after a cold winter spring will be upon us all again, and the Hope of a new season.
In the meantime, somebody please drive a stake thru the heart of the Yankees!

And the White Sox fans are now happier than if they won; a true Chicago oddity.
To: Diddle E. Squat
No, of course not. Unfortunately there are too many absolute losers that might just do something stupid. No sympathy from Houston, we've been to the brink just as many times with the Oilers and Astros, yet we never rioted after a loss. Watch it get ugly tonight in Chicago. Guess what? Cubs fans don't riot either. Now....... down on Rush Street? That's another story. I wouldn't want to walk down Rush Street in about another hour or so when the Cubs fans are done drinking (they've probably had enough beer for one night already ;-).
To: COURAGE
They do have the stuff to win the World series over the Yankees.
Sorry to inform you, but the Boston Red Sox won today, 9-6. 0ver the New York Yankees, to even the series at 3 games each.
To: Bogey78O
OK, sounds like fitting PEN-ance since the NL PEN-nant is history (for this year).

The Cubbies fans will just make this part of the lore. The joshing and kidding about the curse being carried on by the Bart/Goatman is part of the charm. Precisely. Both Cubs and Red Sox fans would be utterly miserable if either of their myths were shattered (and they actually won). After a (very) brief euphoria, they'd quickly be sent into a severe depression. ....thinking/feeling......."what now?"

Yeah, and now all the Cubs fans will be pulling for the Red Sox against the Yankees. You can bank on it!

I'm concerned about the foul ball guy - seriously.
Hope he realizes that the Cubs had the Marlins down 3 games to 1 and then just fell apart. If it hadn't been his interference it would have been something else. Underlying cause as it usually is ... pitching.
