Florida Woman Survived Husband's Strangulation Attack in 1990; Now the Courts, Government, Media, and Public enable Michael Schiavo to 'Finish Her Off' in 2003!

MURDER in the Making - in the Sunshine State! - (Florida)

The Pending Death of Theresa "Terri" Schindler-Schiavo, age 39

- Terri, a Likely Victim of Spousal Abuse, may finally be 'terminated' on Wednesday -

(No Link Here, see end of article for active link.)

"Terri was a sweet girl, very compassionate, caring, and loyal to her family." Later, Terri was married to Michael Schiavo. They were then in a troubled and combative marriage, and Terri was contemplating divorce. In 1990, Terri was 26 years old when she suffered brain damage from a 'sudden collapse'. Initially, it was thought that Terri had suffered a heart attack. Later, it was determined that that was NOT the case. She had appeared to have suffered a spinal cord neck injury.

Her husband Michael has been successful in getting a court order to have her feeding tube removed at 2PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2003, -Today!-   unless Governor Jeb Bush, or Pres. George W. Bush is persuaded to intervene.

Terri Schindler-Schiavo is NOT in a coma. It was NOT a 'heart attack' that disabled Terri Schindler-Schiavo! Dr. Hammesfhar and Dr. Bambikidas testified that Terri did appear to suffer from a spinal cord neck injury when admitted to the hospital the night of Terri's collapse. Dr. Hammesfahr stated that Terri's neck injury was similiar to an injury resulting from strangulation.

Terri Schindler-Schiavo is NOT in a coma. In 1990, Terri was 26 years old when she suffered brain damage from a 'sudden collapse'. Terri receives her food and water by means of a feeding tube. Terri’s other bodily functions are physically stable. Terri smiles, laughs and cries. Terri recognizes voices and responds. At times, she vocalizes sounds, trying in her best way to speak. Terri is not a brain dead vegetable as characterized by her husband and legal guardian, Michael Schiavo nor a houseplant as implied by his attorney. Terri is not on a respirator or any artificial life support. She is a living human being and needs to be granted an opportunity to recover. Terri has not had any progressive rehabilitation or arousal therapy in more than ten years.

[SEE Nursing Affidavits, Terri's 1991 Bone Scan which shows major trauma, and doctors' testimony of spinal cord neck injury, and NOT a heart attack.]

AFF2 (326kb) - Affidavit of C. Iyer, RN, former caregiver of Terri's from Palm Garden Convalescent Facility
. Excerpt: "Michael would say 'When is she going to die?', 'Has she died yet?', and 'When is that bitch going to die?'."

Her husband Michael has been successful in getting a court order to have her feeding tube removed at 2PM on Wednesday, October 15, unless Governor Jeb Bush is persuaded to intervene. If the feeding tube is removed, this will begin her death by dehydration [and starvation], which is a painful, agonizing and arduous process that may take 10 to 14 days.

The Feast of St. Teresa

October 15, 2003 is the day the courts have ordered the withholding of nutrition and hydration from Terri Schiavo. It is also the Feast of St. Teresa - Terri's name-sake.

In a desperate effort to get the attention of someone who could stop this court-sanctioned death, the Schindler family has released a video of Terri that they took some 24 months ago, showing Terri laughing with her mother.

Because of this, Mr. Schiavo's attorneys have ordered that Terri may no longer have visitors. Not even her mother and father are allowed to see her or to even say goodbye to her.

May 7, 2001 - Dr. Hammesfahr (neurology), filed a six page affidavit with the court stating Terri was not in a Persistent Vegetative State, accompanied by a formal letter requesting Schiavo’s permission to allow Terri to begin rehabilitation treatment.

Need more Information ... - (see Must Read Link / Chronology, below, for further details)

During the first court hearings, Michael Schiavo professed his love and concern for his injured wife Terri. He recited their wedding vows, and promised to provide care and rehabilitation for Terri. He obtained legal control over Terri and her medical care. He received large sums of money through legal action and settlements.

After obtaining legal control over Terri, Michael has wanted to have Terri isolated, neglected, - he wants her feeding tube to be removed. For nearly the entire 13 years of this ordeal, Michael Schiavo has wanted Terri Schindler-Schiavo to die!   Who in government or in law enforcement, is asking, "WHY ?!"

More info... why ... her husband Michael Schiavo has isolated Terri from her parents and family, did not want Terri to be tested to see if she could swallow, has prohibited Terri from receiving any rehabilitation therapy - even when requested by Dr. Hammesfahr. How and why Michael Schiavo clandestinely moved Terri from Palm Gardens Nursing Home to the Woodside Hospice Facility. Why Michael illegally attempted to have the staff withhold medical treatment and anti-biotics for a urinary tract infection. Without the treatment it was likely that Terri might die. When is it that Michael did not want Terri to have her teeth brushed, and why he has not had her wheel chair fixed?

Nursing Affidavits, Terri's 1991 Bone Scan which shows major trauma, and doctors' testimony of spinal cord neck injury, and NOT a heart attack.

** NOTE: The people at the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation may want to check their website. I'm having trouble finding the links concerning the medical afidavits, and the 1991 Bone Scan report ???which shows major trauma to Terri. Someone please post the Bone Scan Report. - Thanks! - affidavit Link = http://www.terrisfight.org/fed.html I saw it on Monday, but I think their link to the Federal Case is now missing...?? from their website. @ 7:25 AM 10/15/03

Must Read - Theresa "Terri" Schindler-Schiavo - Intro / Chronology FR Thread - (post #18) - Excerpts:

May 7, 2001 - Dr. Hammesfahr (neurology), filed a six page affidavit with the court stating Terri was not in a Persistent Vegetative State, accompanied by a formal letter requesting Schiavo’s permission to allow Terri to begin rehabilitation treatment.

October 14, 2002 -Dr. Hammesfahr testified that in all of his past experiences he has only had one patient who suffered a neck spinal cord injury that was similar with what he had found during his examination of Terri. Attorney Anderson asked Dr. Hammesfahr how this injury occurred to that patient. Dr. Hammesfahr emphatically stated that the neck spinal injury this patient incurred was by Strangulation. Schiavo’s attorney avoided challenging Dr. Hammesfahr’s strangulation statement.

October 15, 2002 - Dr. Bambikidas's testimony confirmed Dr. Hammesfhar's testimony that Terri did not have a heart attack and that Terri did appear to suffer from a spinal cord neck injury when admitted to the hospital the night of Terri's collapse.

Judge Greer Ignores Schiavo’s Alleged Abuse
"The court concludes that while it might be interesting to pursue the issue of trauma as it may have occurred almost 12 years ago, that has nothing to do with Theresa Marie Schiavo in 2002."--Judge George Greer (November 22, 2002)

FR's Grand Old Partisan, and thinktwice, have both requested to be removed from my ping list.
Done Deal! - However, both will receive this golden Invite to this thread! Welcome!

During the Recall, I ignored the Terri links. Didn't know the details, and I thought there was so much else to care about. I now think that we all need to take an interest in the life of Terri Schindler-Schiavo, and legal battle to save her life!

Car Taxes and the driver license, etc. debate is going to have to be given a lower priority, compared to this on-going travesty, - & tragedy in the making!

Again, a Special and Warm Welcome to Grand Old Partisan, and thinktwice! And, to all!

This is a tragic situation, to be sure, but how do you propose for Governor Bush to intervene? He has done everything in his power but, tragically, this is in the hands of the judiciary. Believe me, if Jeb knew of a way to take action, he would.

Pray for a miracle.

The only hope is a very quick recovery (please, God!) or the last minute divorce attempt.

It's sickening how so many murderers on death row will watch cable television until they die of old age and how easy it is for the State to execute a person guilty of nothing!

Good morning, Golden Gate. I spent some time looking for the affidavit or court case discussing or prosecuting the husband's strangulation attack accusation but couldn't find it. Can you post a link? Thanks.

Jeb has ordered his legal team to try to find a way to intervene in the case.

Removal of Brain-Damaged Woman's Feeding Tube to Proceed

Published: Oct 15, 2003

DOVER, Fla. (AP) - Gov. Jeb Bush said Wednesday he has ordered his legal team to try to find a way to intervene in the case of severely disabled woman who is scheduled to have the feeding tube keeping her alive removed.

Bush's comments came after a 20-minute meeting with the family of Terri Schiavo, who faces a 2 p.m. Wednesday deadline in the removal of the tube. Her husband, Michael Schiavo, has been granted permission to remove the tube in a six-year legal battle against her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler.

Bush said his attorneys are looking for legal alternatives to somehow block the removal of the tube, but did not know yet what they might be.

"We are going to seek whatever legal alternatives are available and seek the best minds to find another avenue to submit to the courts to see if there can be a change in this ruling," Bush said at an appearance in Dover dedicating new housing for migrant workers.

"I am not a doctor, I am not a lawyer, But I know that if a person can be able to sustain life without life support, that should be tried," the governor said, adding the "ultimate decision of this is in the courts."

Funny. Boortz (http://www.boortz.com) reported today that a group of police officers, forensic scientists and pathologists, working for the Court, have reported that this strangulation story, theory, whatever, is pure horse hockey.

Grasping at straws.

Received the following from Gov. Jeb Bush's office just now:

Thank you for writing to Governor Bush and expressing interest in the well-being of Terri Schindler Schiavo. He has asked me to respond on his behalf.

The Governor is very concerned about Terri, and his thoughts and prayers are with the Schindler family.

The Governor, more than any other state official, has a responsibility to ensure that the laws be faithfully executed and to give a voice to the citizens of the state. It is because of these dual responsibilities that the Governor felt compelled to write a letter to the circuit court judge expressing an opinion on this difficult matter and to file an amicus brief to accompany the Schindlers' federal lawsuit.

The Governor is disappointed by the decisions made by the state and federal courts in these cases. However, the Florida Constitution prevents the Governor from acting further. Florida law gives the courts, not the Governor, authority over guardianships.

For that reason, despite his great concern for Terri's life, the Governor has no power to intervene further.

Thank you again for writing.

Sincerely,

Lauren O'Connor

Office of Citizens' Services

And we've know this info for DAYS. Jeb is not the answer in this struggle. I tried too, but it's out of his hands. The team of legal experts he has assigned have less than one hour to come up with something. Praying.......

No, he hasn't done everything in his power. He can request a stay of execution, and he can make her a ward of the state. Don't be politically soft on him, just because he ia a R.
