RED SOX/YANKEES GAME 4 ALCS BASEBALL - Red Sox Win 3-2
Me

Ok, rain's gone away and it's a beautiful fall evening here in Boston. I've never post anything on FR, so I apoligize in advance if I'm doing it wrong. I don't know anything about pinging or anything like that. Hope the usual suspects find this.
I hope we can move the discussion back to baseball. I'm so tired of Pedro, Manny, Zim, Garcia and the bullpen guy. I think the players have at least temporarily put all incidents aside and will return to playing the game without the extra theatrics.
With that in mind, let me say this: the idea that all Sox fans are English soccer hooligans is as false as saying all conversatives are racists. Most Red Sox fans are extremely passionate about baseball and most of us have Yankee fans as friends, neighbors, co-workers, and even spouses. The media potrayals I've seen in some cases have grossly exaggerated the truth about Boston fans. Yes, we want to win - just ONE DAMN TIME before we all die. Yes, there are a few jerks who get out of hand. But that can be found at Yankee stadium, Wrigley Field, or just about any professional sports event (except Expos games, let's face it no one is even there to fight). At the end of the day, whether the Sox are in the playoffs or 25 games out, it's all about cracking a beer, having a hotdog and enjoying life.
Play ball!

Manny gets a bad hop hit.

No, it was me. I have magical powers of doom. My own wife will not sit with me. She is a Yankee fan born, used to sun herself on the black seats as a teenager.
She is a bar w/her friends, leaving "her dark prince" as she calls me, to wallow on the Internet.

One run. We can get it back. Strange that the Yankees do so well against Pedro, but so poorly against Wakefield, who has a much higher ERA.

4-6-3. Sox draw first blood, so to speak.

It wasn't me. It was the Goat. Oh man, talking dead bloody goat head. Well, hats off to its power. End of SOX for this inning. C'mon SOX, get --ON THE STICK--

Well, ya can't expect the Goat Head to do everything. THe Red SOx gotta do a little, too. I mean, sometimes I feel like the Goat Head and I are carrying this team ;0)

Nomar needs to make some type of an adjustment. Maybe he could more selective at the plate. At least make the pitcher throw a few more.

Not if my Magic BloodyGoat Head has anything to say about it... You really do have some strong acid, don't you?

Nice to see Walker crank one out. He's a clutch hitter in this post-season. What about Nomar? Another lazy infield pop-up. His bat has been simply awful this post-season. What a time to have a slump.

Nomar needs to make some type of an adjustment. I noticed at his last at-bat that he was not kicking his feet. Not a good idea - it's always served him.
To: lavrenti
They can't hit him. No matter what. Maybe the Sox should leave Wakefield in for all 9 innings.

Strange that the Yankees do so well against Pedro, but so poorly against Wakefield, who has a much higher ERA. Series are short and anything can happen.

Sox have this in the bag.Oh man, c'mon! That's like saying "no-hitter" before the first hit.
Don't jinx us-you don't want your wife coming home all happy, do you?!
(Well, that may not be such a bad thing...)

I agree, no reason why Wakefield can't go nine if he's pitching well.
