[history]
Rush Limbaugh is off the air. But his critics are only just now getting on his back. As he tries to kick his prescription drug habit, those who hate him are just kicking him. I say, give it a rest.

More on Neil..this is the actual comments he made when a viewer wrote in to the show that He had MS.
Tuesday, September 03, 2002
By Neil Cavuto
Speaking of attitude, I've been getting quite a bit of e-mail these last few days over a People magazine profile of me in its latest edition. Not all of it good.
Terry R. e-mails:
"Why is it I have to read in People that you have multiple sclerosis, and are a cancer survivor? I suffer from MS and am a nobody. You have this great platform and never use it to help the rest of us who suffer so much. You seem like a nice guy, Neil, but after reading this, I'm disappointed."
I'm sorry you feel that way, Terry. I don't think I hide from my MS. I mention it, when appropriate, as when I'm talking to the CEO of the company, whose drugs I take to fight it. But that's it.
As I told People magazine, I'm not a platform or a cause. The best way I can help people with this disease, is prove you can move on, despite this disease.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: We all bear our crosses in life. Some are heavier than others -- many are a lot heavier than mine.
But I'd rather be defined by what I do, not what I have. So why bloviate on what I have?
And seeing as I seem to collect diseases, why should I be partial to one over another?
I'm an optimist at heart, Terry. And my optimistic way of helping those with disabilities is to prove to the world that we are greater than the sum of our disabilities.
You can't preach that. You have to live that.
I choose the latter.
You see, Terry, I firmly believe you can take a stand without standing on a soapbox.
What do you think? Send your comments to:
cavuto@foxnews.com. And watch Neil Cavuto's Common Sense weekdays at 4 p.m. ET on Your World w/Cavuto.

You frigin liberals try to equate every sin in the world with Rush's failure. LOL... I'm not a liberal... I'm a libertarian. Evidently the suffixes 'al' and 'tarian' are polar opposites.

Ditto Cavuto ping! Neil is a stand-up guy.
(As an aside to "Kiss Me Hardy" and the rest of the Rush bashers and haters: They can all "Kiss My Ass", hardy. FOAD to all of them).

This wasn't pain management (see: cancer patients that use MJ) This was pure visceral pleasure seeking. And you kow this how, Mr. Mind Reader?

Well... It's a supposition based upon the non-denied email to the "maid" that expressed a desire to 'go out with a bang' before one of his previous attempts to quit drugs.

I guess I know what is in your medicine cabinet....he'd be safe in front of mine. And it may be conjecture, but I believe his Motel Six comment has to do with the harm he would NOT inflict on you, your wife or kids (something neither a Clinton nor a Kennedy can claim) not the harm he may do himself. Rather a large difference to me.

Thanks for posting those articles on Cavuto. He is the best in the business. I tape his show and If I'm busy I still always manage to catch the last 5 minutes of his show which includes the "mail" segment and the priceless "Common Sense" commentaries, which are are fantastic!
And oh yes, since the topic is Rush, he is spot on with his take on this.

Rush, all I'm saying is there are a lot of people out there still not keen on you. Please know there are far more -- far more people that are still very much rooting for you.
Could'nt have said it better in any word or deed !

Your point, your medicine cabinet more important to you than a 6 year old or wife. Your priorities come out very clear.
You sure have some convoluted logic... Too bad you aren't a DUnderground type - the Clintons could use your flair for false argument.
To: StatesEnemy
Well... It's a supposition... Well, that answers my question!
To: hugorand
I did not listen to him much when he was all finance probably because we are young and I still had no portfolio to speak of. I am nearing 40 and have a nice portfolio now and do listen to him a lot these days.
Cavuto is always consistent and much to be admired. I can understand completely why he did not have to act like Chris Reeve or Michael J Fox. Both who have been totally exploited due to their conditions.

MARK LEVIN is now saying on his radio show that Newsweek called him this week to comment for their article and they DID NOT INCLUDE one of his comments because they just cant handle to print the truth.
Mark is on fire. Has direct quotes that Franken does cocaine and pot.
Mark, care to comment further for your fans who don't get your show.
And since your in the media circle maybe Cavuto can sub for Rush show one day. Just an idea for you to think about.
