Rush Limbaugh is off the air. But his critics are only just now getting on his back. As he tries to kick his prescription drug habit, those who hate him are just kicking him. I say, give it a rest.

Neither did Rush, say something about drugs week after week. In fact, I never heard him say a word about drugs during the many years that I have listened to him. I know that he did, but I never heard him make such statements about drugs "week after week." Methinks you exaggerate.

Neither did Rush rant defending the war on drugs. His rants were not about drug law enforcement.

You really think Rush is going to change his opinions on drugs and their legal status?

If anything, Rush would want tougher law enforcement to stop the
drug pushers and to make it less likely that these drugs could end up on the street. Rush is an example of why drugs are restricted and made illegal.

I read your three quoted carefully. Only one of them is related to advocating drug prohibition and that rather indirectly.

I agree, however, that Rush has said a handful of things over the years that suggest he is opposed to free access to drugs. Rush, like perhaps 80% of us, appears to have acted hypocritically with respect to drugs. But, frankly, I don't care. I don't expect entertainers or political leaders to be perfect. I expect them to make reasonable and rational arguments and to generally act decently. Rush meets all those criteria, will therefore retain his credibility with me, and, I expect, will retain it with the millions of Americans who listen to him each day.

I've had plenty of critical things to say about Rush over the years. But I'm not a tad critical of him now.

The thing is, I'm not for excommunicating people who criticize Rush. I am, however, greatly in favor of excommunicating those who appear to want to destroy a man who has many good years and good ideas left in him.

A little fact you may not know. Rush built his present success on being very cocky! He was way out there and lots of fun to listen to. With success and well researched knowlege he has been able changed over the years and the cockiness he displays occasionaly now is quite calm in comparision. The remark, "for those of you in Rio Linda" was part of the original Rush personna, and only appreciated by the residents of the Sac area, of which Rio Linda is a part. Rush is a unique soul and I, for one, know he will be back stronger, because that is his way.
