I'm groaning over this...
I'm hoping Murkowski did this after checking potential poll numbers between his daughter and Knowles.
Wasn't there anyone else????
Well, on the upside, we now have five female Senators. Too bad Terrell didn't win. We would have had six. Wonder if the LIBERAL media would have called it another year of the women...3 new GOP female Senators, minus 1 Democrat. NO.

Well, she is pro-life!
YEAH!

at least Lisa M. is not a novice, she is elected as the speaker of the house there...so there is some rationale for her pickings...
Lisa M. will go for the re-election in 2004, a presidential yr...if gwnb is still in very shape, look for a landslide electionin alaska for gwb..that, add on the governor's office, the Stevens' machine - and with Knowles out of power, plus Lisa M. as an incumbent female senator - it certainly will not be a cake-walk for Knowles. I like to see more female gop senators, really help to change the image of the party.

I agree. Knowles should have a very difficult time trying to defeat Senator Murkowski.
The only thing I worry about is a perception that Senator Stevens and Governor Murkowski regard the Alaska GOP as their fiefdom. It can be a slight problem.

agree - this is a potential issue..
heck, if something happens to ted stevens, i bet ben stevens will run for the seat...
so who knows, maybe the stevens, murkowski empire will last for quite some time...
think about it, south carolina had thurmond, hollings together for over 30 years - or kkk byrd, rockefeller over WV...
think about it - now the gop has female senators from all parts of the country - northeast (colins, snowe); south (dole hutchinson); northwest (murkowski)...

I heard she was a RINO, so I assumed she was pro-abortion. Are you sure she's pro-life?
