Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chair Rand Paul (R-Ky.) confronted Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) Wednesday about his past comments calling him a snake, saying “tell it to my face.”
Paul said Mullin has “anger issues” and said the public must be wondering whether the nominee has the temperament to lead the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The beef between the two men stems from comments Mullin made after Paul was attacked by his neighbor.
Paul said Mullin made the comments when confronted by constituents rather than defend a vote.
“Instead of explaining your vote to continue these welfare programs for refugees, you decide to transfer the blame. You told the media that I was a ‘freaking snake’ and that you completely understood why I had been assaulted. I was shocked it would justify and celebrate this violent assault that caused me so much pain and my family so much pain,” Paul said in his opening remarks at Mullin’s confirmation hearing.

I wasn’t for or against Mullin one way or the other. Now that I know Paul is against....
I’m all in for Markwayne.
To be expected. Paul is a snake…with anger issues.
Mullin just said the truth, but Paul can’t handle the truth.
Republicans sure know how to stick together and not attack each other…./rolling eyes here.
The trash talk should have been between the two in the middle of the wrestling ring with the arena PA system on full blast.
I remember that leftist neighbor’s attack on Rand Paul. Paul’s wife said in the hospital bed her husband had severe pain with every breath and couldn’t sleep all night. Punctured lung from one of the broken ribs was jabbing him.
The news media belittled the attack and suppressed the story of the “neighbors” arguing in the yard. This was an assault.
I of course have not forgiven that “neighbor” and want him to suffer. As well as the news media people for that report.
However, to be fair, I am against Rand Paul politically.
Guess that leaves me with being a Markwayne Mullin fan.
Mullin is a moron. Challenged a witness to fight in a hearing and stood up to chest bump because the guy said he was not self made. He isn’t, he took over his dad’s business. Hugged the DC cop that murdered Ashley Babbett on January 6 and said he has no choice. And he brought in all the Afghans he could. But I favor him getting this position, it’ll get that tool out of Congress!
It’s great that Team R gets along so well.
Rand Paul gets pissed at everyone, seriously what bills has Rand passed since they took back the Senate, nothing is my guess and when is the SAVE act gonna be passed, oh I know, NEVER :(
Paul has loyalty and intelligence issues.
To Chat gpt: List all passed legislation that originated in Rand Paul’s office in the last 10 years.
Short answer: No publicly available records show any bill originating in Senator Rand Paul’s office that was introduced and later enacted into law in the past 10 years.
This conclusion comes from reviewing his sponsored legislation lists and congressional records, none of which show a Paul-originated bill that became law during this period.
Yeah, it was a dumb, immature thing to say. Just apologize and move on. Rand is not my favorite, but neither is Mullin. Of course, I’m sure DOCTOR Paul feels superior to Mullin, who, after all, is just an uneducated hick. That’s the way many politicians considered Abraham Lincoln. Not that I’m comparing Mullin to Lincoln, but still.
Paul showing his true self, yet again!
Do better Kentucky!
Par for the course when it comes to this idiot.
They are too stupid. Look at their delegation. Paul, McConnell, Massie, and all talk Comer.
Well said. I agree 100%.
To paraphrase Rush Limbaugh, Politics is Show Business for crazy people.
