Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird (R) endorsed former President Trump during a campaign rally in Adel, Iowa, on Monday, making her the second statewide elected official in the Hawkeye State to wade into the 2024 GOP primary.

“We need a new president in the White House. I am so glad to get to be here today to introduce Donald Trump because he will secure our border. Who supports that?” she said to a crowd of Trump supporters.

“He will fight the terrorists. He will fix the economy. He will stand up for agriculture, and he will uphold our Constitution and our way of life,” she added.

Bird’s announcement, which was first reported by The Des Moines Register, makes her the second Iowa statewide official to endorse in the GOP primary after Iowa Treasurer Roby Smith (R) backed biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy in August.

She is correctly not endorsing any R candidate.
All of them are welcome to come and campaign .
Gov Reynolds is doing it right

This seems like a big deal to me. The top law enforcement officer of a state endorsing a candidate wrongly indicted by partisan hacks. Maybe more will follow.

Wrong, loyalty counts for something. Trump was there when she needed him. Pence did this in 2016 but at least he didn’t beg for Trumps endorsement first. Her polling has her 7 points underwater with 32 approving. I was told she was a super popular Govenor.

“ Trump was there when she needed him.”

Wrong.
Gov. Reynolds didn’t need him, that’s a line of BS Trump came up with.
People in Iowa or Florida don’t need an outsider to tell them who to vote for.

Yea, I’m sure if Trump decides to primary her she’ll have to spend a pretty penny. Maybe Iowa could use the AG as Gov. If she ever wants to head to the Senate hopefully Trump is there to support her opponent like she’s doing to him. As for Florida, 2016 and 2018, razer thin margins. Of course Trump had nothing to do with pushing candidates over. At the time though they sure did appreciate all the money and campaigning. Typical scum politicians.

It’s obvious you don’t much about Gov Reynolds.
Her job is to welcome ALL Republican candidates to Iowa.
Not to be a kingmaker .
We in Iowa don’t need a friggin New York politician telling us who to have as our governor.
That whole idea is laughable.
And the truth is here in Iowa Reynolds gave him a huge amount of support and took heat for it.

And Trumps demand for “loyalty” is creepy.

Mafia bosses ask for that.

Nothing creepy about asking for loyalty, unless you’re pledging fidelity to the Dark One.
