Obama ran a good campaign in 2008. He was an unifer. He brought hope that we could get past our baggage as a country. He appeared to be a moderate and appealed to all Americans. But that was a lie so he lost North Carolina and Indiana in 2012, both states he won in 2008. Usually incumbents get stronger when they get reelected (unless they’re defeated - Carter, Bush 41 and Trump).
