Great song from a great album.

Low Budget is also a timely song.

I remember when this album came out.

Low Budget was (and still is) my theme song.

Another great one is Around the Dial from Give the People What They Want.

A third one is 20th Century Man from Muswell Hillbillies.

You should check out the whole album. It’s their best! Ray Davies was reacting to the forced post war socialization of Britain. Very similar to the situation we’re in.

Ray Davies wrote some lyrics thast could be considered very conservative. Living on a Thin Line is an example.

Dave wrote that one.

National Health is timely as well. Nervous tension, man’s invention is the biggest killer that’s around today

Beat me to it. Yes, “Thin Line” was all Dave Davies.

There are two tunes that came out in the ‘80’s that strike me as prescient...

Rainbow, “Can’t Happen Here” (1982)

Queensryche, “Revolution Calling” and “Spreading the Disease” — Hell, all of Operation Mindcrime is spooky how true that whole album was in 1987

and today.
