On Wednesday, Fox News host Mark Levin sounded off on Facebook regarding Tuesdays presidential debate, pointing out that former Vice President Joe Biden assayed using the same gestures against President Trump that he used against 2012 GOP vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan, but Trump would have none of it.
Levin recalled the vice-presidential debate between Biden and Ryan, in which Ryan ignored Bidens histrionics and eschewed harshly attacking him, writing, Biden pulled the same stunts on the president as he pulled on Paul Ryan eight years earlier, but Trump would have none of it. Biden was making faces, rolling his eyes, interrupting the president with laughs and jabs, and was long-winded, which the moderator allowed to a ridiculous level.

Biden laughs at the most inappropriate times during the debates. It doesn’t matter how serious the topic, he’ll make a laughing sound.
It’s astounding how much they lie and make stuff up.
Trump doesn't argue with them, he punches back.
Don't want to get punched, don't start.
Joe was probably stunned that Trump wouldn't fold like Ryan. I'm glad that Trump got Joe to yell "Shut up!"
Then why did Romney wipe the floor with Obama in their first debate if they were "trying" to lose? Was that a mistake and Ryan was making up for it? And why did most people think Ryan won the debate if he supposedly did so poorly? https://www.cnn.com/2012/10/11/politics/vp-debate/index.html
Hurricane Sandy turned the race around for Obama - wiped Romney / Ryan out of the picture entirely, with people like Chris Christie going on TV slobbering all over Obama about how wonderful a job he was doing.
Not that it matters...given how Romney has turned out to be.
That first Bush v. Gore debate was fairly nasty as well - Gore’s loud sighing repeatedly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwQBeMUj_ps
I had almost forgotten how insufferable it was to listen to Gore talking about the “Medicare lockbox.” Yeesh...
It's been decades since I read it but didn't they fry his brain or something like that? And all that did was make him their puppet until he died. I sort of remember it that way but I could be wrong.
Anyway, no magic brain adjustments will get the uniparty the win over Trump!
It’s been decades since I read it too... anyhow I do get your drift about Trump being different - and needed. And that we need to create systems so more men of action (those judged by results not words) can win over men of ‘cheap words’... I didn’t mean to be picky...
“My wife was offput by Trump fighting with Biden. She wanted Trump to be more polite.”
Mine too. And her sister in law and a few other women who watched it as well.
I, after a couple of sentences, gave up trying to explain to her pretty much along the lines of what you said.
You absolutely hit the nail on the head. Trump may not be perfect, but hes real, and he actually cares about other people.
Biden is 100 % fake, he cant even fake caring about other people.
I said this on another thread and Ill say it again. If any Republican candidate for president called his Democrat opponent a clown during a nationally televised presidential debate, the Republican would be roundly criticized and deemed unfit for office. While I believe Trump was wise not to ignore the insult, a major talking point should be that if anyone thought Trump is crass or mean or crude, Biden is worse. He is a bully and a fake tough guy with absolutely no accomplishments to back up his false bravado.
And the childish name calling. Disrespectful. Not presidential.
good comment
When Biden and Ryan had a debate, it was one Democrat debating another Democrat.
..
true
There's an older photo from the beginning of President Trump's first term, showing him at his desk and Ryan leaning over his shoulder from behind.
The look on Ryan's face is "we're going to stab you in the back and you poor simpleton, you'll never see it coming."
Looking forward to seeing Ryan in Gitmo with the rest of the Dems.
