The popular Arizona State University professor who often discussed social justice issues and purportedly died after a battle with the coronavirus actually never existed. The person behind the hoax account was BethAnn McLaughlin, a neuroscientist, and founder of the #MeTooSTEM advocacy group.
The story: McLaughlin, who last week announced the fake professors death, told the New York Times this week that she was operating the account.
I take full responsibility for my involvement in creating the @sciencing_bi Twitter account. My actions are inexcusable. I apologize without reservation to all the people I hurt, she said in a statement.

Are ALL leftists dishonest?
Hoax after hoax after hoax!
Please read my tagline:
Yes. Honesty is not a value of the left.
She belongs in jail. Sick the IRS on her. Should lose any license that she may have.
GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY!!!!!
Again, the demand for hate exceeds the supply.
Did she make up the professor or eat the professor?
In their minds, no. Leftists are driven by the message, not the facts.
Another leftist Tuttle story.
(Obscure MASH reference, likely my favorite least politically-ridden episode)
A scientist who makes things up?
What could be wrong with that?
Remember the Fraud’s “composite” “girlfriend”?
Typical leftist professor “scientist” with no integrity, morality or values. Typical. What a pathetic loser.
If there is ever another Muppets movie I think they have their miss piggy.
This is even MORE common than we think.
I worked with a uber leftist who created a fake persona of a lesbian social justice warrior in Syria. This was during the Obama era when he funneled money to ISIS to fight Assad. The fake lesbian SJW became such a sensation that BBC profiled “her”. The guy eventually had “her” kidnapped by Assad. I don’t know if this hoax had anything to do with Obama’s fight against Assad, but it had to be in the background. Anyway, the guy was eventually exposed, but he claimed he was doing to world a favor by illustrating a real problem. You know, “false, but accurate”.
Of course, we at work did not know any of this until later. Just search “a gay girl in Damascus” for more information.
Believe anything that can involve islamic terrorists.
LOL.
Captain Tuttle.
