4th ranked House leader seeks US Senate seat in New Mexico
Luján hails from a prominent New Mexico political family that includes Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, a distant cousin by marriage, as well as his father, Ben Luján, who was the states House speaker for over a decade. The elder Luján served in New Mexicos unsalaried Legislature from 1974 until shortly before his death in 2012.

One would think that this would be pretty darned easy to prove or disprove.
... A mama and a papa and a boy who was grown
He wanted to marry and have a wife of his own
He found a girl she suited him nice
He went to his father to ask his advice
His father said: “Son, I have to say no
The girl is your sister, but your mama don’t know”...
“While I respect my friend, our governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham, were not cousins.”
In legalese, that means second cousins or something.
