Democrats came under fire for staging a political stunt Monday aimed as an apparent act of solidarity with black Americans and demonstrators protesting the death of George Floyd.
Just before they introduced a sweeping criminal justice legislation Monday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), joined by over a dozen other Democrats, knelt in silence for 8:46 minutes, the same length of time former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin held Floyd’s neck pressed to the ground with his knee during the fateful May 25 arrest.
Democrats were also wearing scarfs made from a Ghanaian textile known as kente.
The moment quickly went viral, but it received mixed reactions as some members of the African American community described it as unnecessary and “disingenuous.”

These are Democrat states, Democrat cities, we had eight years of a Democrat administration who did nothing on these issues even when it had a congressional supermajority.
Like Trump's unfiltered nature or not, his record shows he cares about all Americans and issues that effect their lives in real terms: education, prison reform, getting a fair deal in the world market, having work.
I get upset with Trump because his impulsive voice gets in the way of letting his record speak for his administration. He needs to stop shooting himself in the foot (or worse).
