On Tuesday, Texas may have created the anti-lockdown movements first martyr when a Dallas judge sentenced hairstylist Shelley Luther to a week in prison for the crime of trying to provide for her own and her employees families.
Texas is home to 28,995,881 people. Its had 32,879 diagnosed Wuhan virus cases (that is, 0.11% of the population got diagnosed) and 890 virus deaths (0.003% of the population). Most of the cases are linked to nursing homes or people with co-morbidities. Even in nursing homes, though, things needn't be so dire. One doctors experiment shows that early intervention with the hydroxychloroquine cocktail can result in a 92% successful treatment rate.

Texas didn’t...a filthy democrat judge did.
The judge’s oral opinion sounded better in the original German.
Yes yes Texas. It was a Texas judge. Man up
Anything that happens that’s left-wing in Texas isn’t a result of Texas. Don’t ask because I don’t understand that either. Some people on the board are terrified to even read that or admit that they have some huge left-wing cities and even when they do admit it somehow they are not part of Texas.
but you can sure as hell bet no one ever forgets New York City is part of New York :-)
Of course Texas has more freedoms than New York and follow the Constitution a heck of a lot more.
And most folks are willing to call a spade a spade when something happens down there that’s wrong
And this and the five guys getting arrested the other day are wrong.
Wimpy’s hiding under his desk.
It’s not a ‘state against state’.
It’s democrat against a Republican.
A POS democrat judge did this. Right before the time was almost up.
But, no, this judge had to throw his POS weight around for show.
Texas was a great state but is slowly being taken over by the enemy.
I keep saying this:
Ted Cruz needs to stop playing Jr President and start helping to fix Texas.
Its not like there is a shortage of things to fix in TX.
Those of us in Denton County have these particular tyrants to thank at the ballot box. Andy Eads, County Judge
Hugh Coleman,Commissioner Precinct 1
Ron Marchant, Commissioner Precinct 2
Bobbie J. Mitchell, Commissioner Precinct 3
Dianne Edmondson, Commissioner Precinct 4
Don't know if they are all up this November, but those interested should keep this list handy when in the voting booth. I certainly am.
True. Abbott has thrown out our constitutional rights! He should be impeached as well as every other Governor who didn’t immediately reopen the State after April 30th.
The judge was only supporting the order that the Gov. gave! Abbott was upset about the punishment, not the fact that she was punished! I hope Abbott’s political career is finished.
From the comments following the article, one poster says this......
“At a macro level in America government exists to protect citizens by ensuring their right to be secure in property, speech, religion, their chosen profession, life, and liberty. When government does not serve that purpose and instead becomes the oppressor and denier of those rights then that government loses its right to exercise authority over the citizens. It is not the citizens that are acting like an out of control mob, it is the tin-pot would be dictators and their henchmen in law enforcement and the courts. Whatever conflagration that comes as a result of these government overreaches is on them. “
“Texas” did NOT imprison Luther. A prima donna local Dallas judge imprisoned her. It was simply because she refused to bow down and acknowledge his supremacy. “Texas” leaders, including the governor, attorney general, and more have denounced the judge. The Lt. Governor has even paid her fine, and offered to replace her in prison.
Fake News.
